As I am sure most of you are aware the site has been running very slow,on one hand this is great it means more people are using it but its slowing us down.I have been trying to tweak things for a while as I really did not want to move hosting company as thats a big job.

Well I have tired just about everything and its looking like I will have to move us to another company. There is no easy way to do this and it will mean some downtime, its hard to estimate but it will be a min 2 hours to a max of 48 hours. We are still way of that point as I am only starting to look at other hosting company's and see what kind of package they will offer us.Then I will have to work out when will be best to migrate onto the new plan,It needs to not effect a time were we are playing and it also has to fit in with my seclude as it will take a lot of my time.

I just want to keep you all in the loop and let you know it will be fixed.

Thanks Paul for the update. If there is anything I can do to help just shout.

Out of interest, does the move to another hosting company mean higher costs?

Thanks Frank.I am sure it will mean more cost,I am in the early stage of talking to a advertising company about bringing back ads in some shape. So I hope this will cover it.

This is a good complaint to have, its much better than nobody using the site.I just want to get this move right so we don't have to move again.

1226 quests in the last 24 hours. Is that from Twitter or Facebook links Paul?

    Serious traffic

Think a whip around could be organised to maybe dilute some costs?

Just an idea, no set amount but more like donations if ppl want. Christmas is upon us so may not be a runner though at the min

There is still a little in the pot form the membership so we should be ok for a while. Also 48 hours is a worst case scenario.

    Thanks Paul,

If a whip around is not quite the order of the day, then maybe time to consider pressing home the annual membeship fee a bit more - while there was a good initial take up, I thought ... it seems to have gone quiet again and I'm sure there are many others could still join, if reminded ;)
