Liverpool Football Club have been charged by The FA with failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, following the dismissal of Jay Spearing.

The charge is in relation to Liverpool’s Premier League fixture at Fulham on 5 December 2011. The club has until 4pm on Monday 12 December to respond to the charge.

Luis Suarez has also been charged following an incident in the same game. The Liverpool player is charged with improper conduct, in relation to an alleged gesture made towards the Fulham fans at the end of the fixture.

The player has until 4pm on Monday 12 December to respond to the charge.

Believe Wayne Rooney got off for the exact same offence. But then he does play for England which seemingly excuses a multitude of sins

I presume the Club will get a hefty fine if found guilty. As for Luis.It is something that he didn't need with the other charge hanging over his head.

You do wonder about this..let me say I detest this in the face of the ref..Arsenal and Manure perfected it and Manure and Chelsea have carried on the tradition with immunity.
Suarez was not right but apparently others have got away with it--least it wasn't a kung-fu kick.

Suarez deserves whatever he gets but I think its harsh charging the club, the lpool players did nothing worse than the man u players last week against Newcastle when they got that dodgy pen and as far as I know they weren't charged.

It's all media driven. They were on Talksport the other week after the City game saying Liverpool had lost their class/soul because they hounded the referee and "effectively got Balotelli sent off". This week Spearings red card was "karma for the Rodwell sending off". "What goes around, comes around"...I'm convinced the egomaniac referees and FA/Premier League officials listen to this guff.

It has been particularly noticeable since I moved to London.

This is probably better in here...

I'm not all together sure how these appeals work but surely we can go cap in hand, admit wrong doing and apologise, whilst also stating this offence has been committed several times over the years without punishment. If there is a ban can it not be construed as discrimination?

Absolutely. Just like the famous Respect campaign they ran when only one player was ever singled out. Mascherano of Liverpool. So let's continue to let them ride roughshod over us.

Would there not be grounds for discrimination though?

If they announced a new law/rule regarding this then so be it, but to ban one and not the other under current rules is ridiculous

The difference is in the first photo, two fingers are raised where as in the second photo, our main man has only raised one finger ;) :D

    Sorry ....

(bad) jokes aside though, Suarez is just going to have to apologise, say he was frustrated with the way the game went and then someone shouted something very personal and he reacted (badly) ... the lads just gonna have to eat a bit of humble pie in front of the FA I'm afraid (even if it does appear to be one set of rules for one club and another for us, sometimes).

I am however growing more concerned about Suarez though, he's now facing two FA charges and each week there's gonna be more journos and supporters (from opposition teams) trying to wind him up - add that to the frustration of him not banging in too many goals in recent games, LFC not playing exactly to his style when Carroll is also on the pitch etc etc and he could potentially loose the rag a bit - though I'm praying he doesn't.

Might be no harm to give him a few days off, let him go chill out at a fancy hotel or something, just have a brief rest etc.

No doubt Kenny's got this well under control though :)

"players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion" -Every single week when a player gets booked people crowd the referee. Is this what the charge is about considering they used the pural version of Players. As far i can remeber Jay and Bellamy were the only two players booked.

I absolutely hate the way players surround the ref, its a disgrace and something that I would love to see stamped out. Respect campaign my arse.

    BUT

Every fcuking team in the league does it. Chelsea and the mancs are by far and away the worst offenders. Have they been charged?
were the mancs charged when their players surrounded the ref in Anfield last season when Carra went through Nani?

lads im beginning to think there is someone in the FA headquarters with a vendetta against the pool because united chelsea arsenal all seem to slip this disciplinary net but liverpool only have to complain or get yellows with a bit of controversies or players surrounding and hounding refs and that ref the other night should have at least sent dempsey off as he actually intiatwed to head butt bellamy and the intention was there
what do you guys think love to hear your opinions

    thanks

    David
