We need to beat thes crowd, and comfortably, going into a tough run of WINNABLE games against QPR, Villa, Wigan, Blackburn and Newcastle, then into the new year. Carrolls shocker against Fulham would keep him out of the team if it was me. We also need someone who can play in the DM role so maybe bringing Conor Coady into the team. But we also need someone tough in the centre of the park to deal with Joey Barton. Also i feel downing has to play to combat the pace of SWP. this IS a must win game. we start to fall away before christmas and i fear we can kiss 4th place goodbye. Minimum Requirement is 13 out of 15 points!
I don't see why people leave maxi out?..he is scoring for fun at the moment when the team is struggling to score goals to finish the game I think we need Lucas replacement in jan but till then I would stick coady in there myself

This play one game, bench the next game does nothing for building momentum or confidence. With a bit of luck he would have scored last night (luis pass was a bit behind him and he had to take it first time, unfortunately it went straight at the kepper with the contact he could get). Against city he was very unlucky not to score with the header and chelsea in the cup - 9/10 when you drill the ball down the middle from a peno you score - luck has deserted the lad a little.

Fully agree I think Carroll has to start. He needs a bit of confidence and another start will give him that. Hopefully he should get a few chances against QPR at home
Spot on mate as an ex center forward myself i know what he is going through , but when i had the run of games i needed ,the Goals started to Flow and flow they will for Him, imo
I notice a few saying carroll should start to help his confidence. With all due respect to Andy,I'm more worried about getting a win than his confidence and the fact is he's not in our best 11 at the moment. When he plays we don't have the same fluidity or movement and are easier to defend against imo. Andy's here for the long term and I'm sure he'll get the run of games he needs eventually but we badly need a win here and I think at the moment we've a better chance of getting it without Carroll.

I'd go with that but somebody else than downing in the mid 3 Shev ? Off the wall but id think Kuyt would make a good defensive mid
