Its gonna cost Abramovich some dosh to re-build that side. The likes of Cech, A Cole, Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Anelka, Alex are players that are arguably past their best and have minimal resale value. Will Abramovich dip into the cheque book again?? With his ongoing court case with Berezowsky potentially costing him billions he might be reluctant to fork out another fortune in building a new side. I'd love to see them disintegrate, maybe thats wishful thinking, but to mee they are an artificial club built on r=the Russians millions and always will be.
I would like to see them disintegrate, but I doubt Chelsea are far from over, Cech is still one of the best keepers around, and being a keeper will be around for many more years, for me Cole is still the best left back in the world.
I think Cech is far from being one of the best keepers around, he has lost his nerve and is much too hesitant since the bang on the head. Ashley Cole up until a season ago was up there as one of the best 3 left backs in the world. However he has shown signs of deterioration over the last year. I think he has lost a half a yard of pace.
Cech is nowhere near what he was, but he still one of the top 10 keepers in world football. I cannot think of a better left back at the moment than Cole at the moment, there are few players close to him now than there was in recent years, but for me he is still the best. You say neither are what they were but don't really back it up. This thread really has gone off topic!!
I think it would be too late to be signing this lad .... unless it was a complete free and even then, he'd be ranking 4th or so in the pecking order, imho. I'd far rather see them spend the €4m on a youngster from the first division or something, if that was all they were going to spend and wanted another striker in the January window.
I can - wouldnt swop Enrique for Cole, wouldnt have thought I would be saying that when I first heard us linked to him - underwhelmed would have best described my thoughts on Jose moving to us. Very happy to hold my hands up on this one and say I was totally wrong about him. Agree with you totally on Cech though, in all aspects of his keeping he is world class, EXCEPT I think his bravery is in question. I'd fancy virtually anyone going through on him one on one. Then again if I had gotten my skull cracked from going down at a players feet I think its likely it would play on my mind any time the situation arose again.
Has to be bull-crap. Suarez, Bellamy and Carroll. No way would we have any use for Anelka. Unless he ages backwards and turns into a 22 year old central midfielder.
