Going to be interesting to see who makes the plane and who doesn’t. Would imagine below are all certs to go,

    Given
    Westwood
    Forde

    O’Shea
    Kelly
    Dunne
    St Ledger
    Ward
    O’Dea

    Duff
    Whelan
    Andrews
    McGeady
    Hunt
    Fahey

    Keane
    Doyle
    Long

After that hard to know what Trap will do. Surely Coleman will go? Imo he will bring five strikers with Walters and Cox added to the other three though Best might be a different option but feel he will miss out. Liam Brady reckons James McCarthy may miss out (i’d bring him myself). I reckon McShane will go as well (just a feeling) ahead of Foley/Clarke. Gibson’s lack of game time might count against him and do we really need him in the squad ahead of someone like McCarthy. Going to be very interesting.

    What do others think?

Yes would be nice to see Holohan given a run but with apparently only one game between now and May so Trap doesn't strike me as a manager who will bring a player based on one/two games. I reckon McCarthy will make it when it comes down to it but when Brady said he reckons he may not i do wonder. Some are talking about Meyler making a late burst now that he's back from injury.

Yeah.I agree on Hoolahan but as he has only one cap in a friendly a few years back I can't see him getting called up now.

Coleman for me would get in there. I think Walters deserves a chance too as he has been playing well for stoke. Will be interesting to see how best gets on for the rest of the season. Alot of these lads will alot to prove and alot to play for. Wonder would stokes be considered for a call up either.

Are 3 keepers really needed? I know one injuiry or suspension and your down to bare bones. Any country ever exposed by just having 2 keepers?

Best you have your boots polished up and ready to go, Trap will ring you before he calls that waste of space.

With regards who gets left behind I'd say he'll only bring 4 strikers so 1 from Walters, Long and Cox will be left behind unless he see's Walters as an option on the wing. Personally I'd have Walters in the team ahead of Doyle, he does the same job as him only he offers pace, power and goals too.

Good question. But more so it is a legal requirement to have 3 keepers.

I'd bring Walters over cox all day long. Walters is playing regular football and scoring goals. Also as you mentioned he can play on the wing which is something we will need.

Wonder what happened to Liam lawerence.

Is it a 23 man squad for this as well?

Can't see him bringing five strikers, if he does your only going to have 3 wingers or 3 centre mids in the squad and its going to be near impossible to make positive changes in those positions during a game if someone gets injured or suspended. Imo, barring injuries, he'll have to make a call between Cox or Walters. Too early in the day to say which one he'll go for as there's a long way to go in the season yet.

We can probably all guess maybe 18/19 of his squad but what about all the possibles?
Lads who haven't been involved yet but are qualified? i would be inclined to stick with the players who got us there but if sombody class turns out to have an Irish granny?

    JonJo Shelvey?
    Anton Ferdinand?
    Kyle Naughton?

    No doubt there are more.

Walters & Long will travel with Keane & Doyle, cant see him bringing anymore fowards.

He has to pick Coleman. What more does the chap need to do?
I'd take a punt on McCarthy myself and McShane would count himself very unlucky not to be on the plane.

Won't be many suprises imo. He'll stick with the fellas who've been in and around the squad. Players like McCarthy and Stokes have no chance of going barring a glut of injuries. Leon Best is in the same boat too. Holohan would be a good option but just can't see him making it either. Trap will be loyal to the lads who got him there and hopefully he's rewarded for it.

Never know who will be injured by then. We have plenty of injury prone older players in O Shea, Duff and Keane. The likes of Andrews and St Ledger are struggling to play every week in the championship. Someone like Clarke at Villa could come through. You would think Trapp would go with the lads that got him there but if Coleman or McCarthy are performing well enough they will get in. Something tells me neither will set the world alight.
