Sorry for borrowing the theme - 1. Daley Thompson - I bet the bejasus out of my spectrum trying to win the decathlon; 2. Eamonn coughlan - that smirk to the Russian - pure class ( however he is a knob head off the track) 3. Jack o'shea - for country and county!
Tony McCoy- Excellence personified Ronnie O Sullivan- In face of adversity, spites it all. Tiger Woods- greatest golfer of all time.
Muhammed Ali Michael Phelps Michael Schumacher Michael Jordan Sooo many more too that I wanted to choose, but I done it under the 60second challenge.
James Hunt 1976 World Formula 1 Champion Lasse Viren 1972 & 1976 Double Gold Medalist at 5,000m and 10,000m Muhammad Ali I should add that these were my earliest Sporting Idols.
Don't really have any now, if i had to choose i'd say pacman or nadal. Growing up it would've been Hulk Hogan, M Schumacher, Carl Lewis, Tyson and Charlie Redmond
God there were so many sports stars that I loved watching growing up. A few would be... Carl Lewis - A sprinter 20 years ahead of his time. John McEnroe - His wars with Borg and Connors were epic. Walter Payton - Loved this guy at running back. Segi Bubka -STILL holds the world record, standing since 1994 Flo-Jo (regardless of the rumour and innuendo that followed her-she was great to watch) Jimmy White - Anyone remember him and the Hurricane singing live on BBC after winning the world doubles. Both of em were blotto singing "if we knew you were coming we'd have baked a cake" David Campese - Simply an amazing Rugby player.
