Folks I've heard a lot of bad things said about Koptalk and was wiondering what the basis of it all is? I know nothing of Duncan Oldham and the circumstances surrounding his involvement with the site. I like many supporters dip in and out of all these sites just to see what is happening and was unaware of any ulterior motive for the site. Just wondering what we know and thought it best on a new topic site. Of course he wouldn't rival Irishkop.
Haha yeah there was a site explain all about the geordie wanker, now its a site for all wankers.....litterally ha
Duncan Oldham - Koptalk make the Urban Dictionary Koptalk is a fans website about Liverpool Football Club which mainly appeals to the younger fans of the club. It is roundly criticised by many fans for charging money to access it and many people will not use it as a matter of principle as they consider its owner Duncan Oldham to be guilty of many unscrupulous business practices. Originally it started off as an e-mail distribution list in the mid to late 90s and then evolved into a giant message board which is almost totally run by members of the site. Oldham appeared to originally have many insider contacts at the club during the Houllier era, but since Rafael Benitez has taken over, most of the inside information that made the site famous tends to come from the posters on the site rather than the people who run it. It is also renowned for the amount of wannabes who post false information. Despite this, it continues to be one of the more successful unofficial Liverpool Football club websites and turns over a tidy profit. Never knew the mystery and controversay that surrounded this site.
I must admit I was very close to subscribing to Kraptalk probably about 12-14 years ago. The official website was poor at the time and IK was not then what it is now. I can't even remember if the emailing list was in operation at the time. But what stopped me was the fact that paying for so called insider information just sounded dodgy to me, when there were some excellent journalist's reporting stories for free. My favorite websites back then were the BBC and The Telegraph. Their is no doubt that Oldham having an established website in the era 1997-2002 before the club got their own act together, made a lot of money back then. Maybe people are still being sucked in by this shady character to subscribe for his 'exclusives' the latest one as was posted on this site earlier in the week about us being linked to Carlos Tevez. The purpose is to reel in the naive to subscribing thinking that he has indeed got insider information. A 'charlatan' of the highest order
He's a scumbag. He has no insider information, all he does he scour every football news site from sh1te like goal.com to more reputable ones like the echo or the post for rumours, rehashes them as Koptalk exclusives and carefully words it to cover his arse whichever way it turns out. Got sent some of his "exclusives" by a few people. He always throws in a fall back get out clause in every story so he can basically make up what he wants. And people pay for the privilage while he boasts about his extravagant lifestyle. The koptalkinsider has some examples of his boll0cks stories and some background on the cnut. He's been caught out plenty of times. It galls me that this prik gets away with this fraud. He's a crook and liar.
The main issue was the advertisements of the rag on his website which was a ****ing disgrace and tried to deny it.
And he's been pictured wearing a s*n hat in the past. He's a complete and utter conman who sucked in hundreds/thousands fans to pay for his insider bullshit. I used to visit koptalk quite a bit 6/7 years ago. I remember Duncan Oldham taking orders (and payment of course) for a book he was writing. According to him, the revelations he was going to expose would rock Anfield to its core. People were completely sucked in and paid up, of course the book never happened and I'm almost certain nobody got a refund
Duncan Oldham (rightly) gets all manner of abuse on The Liverpool Way, he has nothing to do with that website
Travis I'm sure it isn't the sort of exposure he would welcome. There are so many sites nowadays and it is only the last two days I heard his name and his site being slated. I certainly wouldn't pay for any footie gossip on top of what we have for free and in the papers.
