Thought it would be interesting to see has it and if so, by how much has our opinions changed since the campaign began and the last poll. Based on all the debates and radio shows and tv programmes, I wonder now who is top in here. Was McGuinness last time we ran it so lets see.
changed from Norris to Gallagher. I'd personally prefer Dana ahead of McGuinness. Or Barney the Dinosaur. Or Bosco.
Its the new FF tactic, fair play to Michael Martin. They knew nobody would vote for an FF candidate so they are just pretending he isnt from FF. Wouldnt blame FF,Only left their national exective...walks like a duck, talks like a duck etc etc
Exactly. You don't get the "I'm not voting option" on the ballot Regarding money grabbing Gallagher, yeah lets all pick him, and pay him extortionate amounts of money so him and his FF cronies can have a laugh and change the national anthem. Talk about irony
Voting isn't compulsory in Ireland, and (perhaps therefore) doesn't have a NOTA (None of the Above) ballot option. Putting a "not voting" option in this poll would provide additional information (% population who are not voting due to unsatisfactory candidates, etc). Since the OP asked "how much has our opinions changed since the campaign began", the lack of a "not voting" option wouldn't highlight those that have since become disillusioned and won't vote now. Makes for a more complete poll basically. Carry on however
Was wondering the same myself, puts himself across as a successful entrepeneur in the world of business..yet his P60 showed he only made 12K,last year! Directors of His Smarrthomes firm got paid 196K in rent in 2009,for a building bought in 2006,funded by BES grants.Cute Hoorism at its finest! http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2011/1019/1224306073652.html Fianna Fail have pulled some strokes on the people, but this would be their best yet http://www.examiner.ie/opinion/colu...de-facto-ff-candidate-yes-it-does-171089.html
If someone was trying to get a full picture of Mr. Gallagher (or anyone elses') financial position -theyed be far better off getting their hands on the individuals full tax records, along with bank statements for the period in question. A P60 only shows the full picture, if your dealing with an employee, who has one sole income, earned through their employment. Business owners etc have various sources of income, maybe not employment but things like consultancy fees, dividends, rents from properties, dividends from shares etc etc etc +++++++++++++++ Back on Topic - Sorry ++++++++++++++++++ I've voted for McGuinness on this poll (and Gallagher would be my second choice). While I've not had a chance to check back, I think I suggested the same on the previous thread and was voting the same way (or maybe it was vice versa with McGuinness) ... it's a toss up between the two of them for me if I'm to be honest but at the minute I'm leaning towards McGuinness a bit more. Who knows, if Gallagher gets it, perhaps I could have McGuinness as "Deputy First President"
Gallagher's FF through and through no doubt about that, enough reason not to vote for him... I'm still struggling to come up with a reason to vote for any of them but seem to be able to find reasons not to vote for all of them!
LOL Good man, I love the comment above and yet because we all value our right to vote, I do hope you settle on someone of them It's a terrible shame, but the reality of our Political System is that we are so ticked off with so many aspects of it that we struggle to identify the good in any of the politicans standing for any election these days. I will say this though, as a Group, I think the candidates standing for election are probably a far more capable bunch of people than any bloomin' group of TDs you could ever list .... (there are individuals, either party members or independents who I think do a good job, but too few, sadly)
