Was just looking at a compilation of goals on youtube and it got me thinking, what is the best goal I've ever seen in person (Liverpool or otherwise)?

Unfortunately I haven't been to all that many live games but I'd probably have to go with Glenn Whelan for Ireland v Italy.

Anyone else? Bound to be a few belters :D

Dossers against the mancs had an aura about it as the statue in goal watched it float over his head into the net and never moved, nice:cool:

Vlads goal in the 05 final

Babels away in Lyon my personal fav for celebration.

Would be tempted to go for THAT goal against Olympiakos would for sheer quality it would have to be Didi's super volley against Portsmouth on Paddy's Day 2004.

First time volley from 25 yards from a pass from near the corner flag that fell into his stride and it ended up in the top corner. It won goal of the season that year.

This is my favorite goal I've witnessed. The best quality goal I've witnessed though was probably a Paul Cook goal against man city. Left foot half volley from about 30 yards.

Well the best live game I was at was the 4-0 against Madrid in the champions league, so 1 from those 4, probably Gerrards 2nd, caught it lovely and was passed Cassilas before he could move, great night.

Special metions for Dossenas in the same game, icing on the cake,

and Kuyts 1st against United last season, mainly due to Suarez run before hand, and the general spanking we gave them that day.

Best goal I've seen live is probably Torre's first against the Chavs last season or maybe Seb Larsson goal against us this season.

Favourite goal is definitely Dossena's against the scum at old toilet.

I once saw Glen Crowe score a cracker for Bohs from his own half against Pats at Dalymount. Gerrard's against Olympiakos is my favourite ever goal but I wasn't in the ground to witness it.

Edit: :D I found it! Ok so it wasnt quite from his own half but it was a cracking goal all the same

Probably the most important goal Shels have ever scored financially

Gerrards goal against Middlesbrough, half volley. Robbie fowlers last minute header against Newcastle in the 4-3 win, was special cos I was with my dad. Then the Torres goal against Blackburn. I was sitting in the upper part of Annie road and it was class. They're probably the best I've witnessed live.

LOI, John Lester with a header from the half way line against either Pats or Shels I think it was in United Park about 10 years ago.

Have searched and search for the goal but I don't think it was caught on camera.

For the reds probably Insua at Arsenal.

I think his second strike was the better of his two that day. Curling effort from outside the box on the stroke of half time.

I was in the kop and it was Liverpool vs Sunderland when we won 3-0 in March 2010.Torres scored a peach into the kop end goal.He picked up the ball on the left touchline ran to the edge of the box and bent it into the top corner.Has to be one of the best goals ive seen.

    I going to select two as can't decide which;

Albert Riera's goal v Aston Villa March 2009. Match finished 5-0

Ryan Babel's goal v Arsenal in the CL April 2008. Match finished 4-2

Rivaldo's hat-tick against Valencia to secure CL Qualification...2-0 down i think...each goal was class..but the over head kick that he scored to seal it,in the last minute of the game. At any angel it looks superb..and the fact that it was the last kick of the game too.
What a player (except for the world cup v Turkey incident)
