My very very good mate Mike (Wembo 74) Nevin and his better looking grey haired friend Gary Shaw will be releasing a book in what is possibly the greatest year in the history of Liverpool (unless you're blueshite) footbal club. The 85 - 86 double season. The guy's tell their tales of traveling around the grounds of England as Kenny's army marches to his first league victory at Stamford Bridge followed buy a glorious FA Cup win against our bitter rivals across the park. The launch night is in Liverpool on the 1st Dec and facebook page is below https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=254766101221934&view=wall¬if_t=event_wall I will be helping the lads shift a few copies over here for anyone that wants an ideal Christmas present please contact me pm and I'll take pre orders. Altough I'll have to get back to you with a price because the nugget forgot to tell at the time of doing this thread. Anyway knowing Mike as I do this book will certainly raise a few smiles if standing beside him in the kop is anything to go by, and I'm deffo looking forward to it's arrival. Anyone wishing to attend the launch night is more than welcome. I might even convince them to a launch night over here and we'll all have an excuse to get pissed

Liam would this be available to buy as as PDF or available for iBooks to buy? Don't really get time to read books but if I had it on iBooks I would have a better chance of reading it!
Cheers Liam. I was onto Mike during the week and am going to pick one up from him at QPR. Should be a great read.
A quick review of the book from Amazon fantastic book which covers a mystical time in the world of football - available NOW from www.onthemarch.co.uk In 1985, an era before the Premier League, Sky & millionaire footballers, football & football fandom was an underground subculture. The game was tarnished by the Heysel disaster and with a TV strike in effect, the first half of the 1985/86 season went undocumented and largely ignored by the mainstream media. A certain mystique still exists today abut that era. This book has opened up the lid on that wonderful season not just for Liverpool but for football as a whole. Manchester United began the season in style by winning their first ten league games, Everton boosted by Gary Linekar - were playing their best football in 20 years, and in an era before rich clubs ruled, West Ham came from nowhere to mount a serious title challenge. It was Liverpool who took the honours in a dramatic climactic fashion. Carried by Kenny Dalglish who took over as player - manager after Heysel (a revolutionary idea even today), it was fitting that Dalglish should score the goal that won Liverpool the title on the last day of the league season. That goal celebration by Dalglish adorns the cover of this book. The book also covers the much forgotten about Screensport Super Cup (?), little gems such as the Kop singing 'there is only one Ice Cream Factory' (?)and captures the unique politics of Liverpool & indeed Britain at that time. The book unlike so many football books, is written not by lazy detached journalists but by two fans who at the time attended the games that season. The book has a personal feel to it also with eye witness accounts from other fans who were there. A brilliant book.
Met Mike on Saturday and a nicer bloke you couldn't meet. Started readling it yesterday and it's brilliant. Had been looking forward to it for awhile now and it hasn't disappointed. Well worth picking a copy up if you can folks!
Picked it up from Mike right before kick off on Saturday, looks an absolute great read. Got a good laugh out of him too cos we had the signed copies ordered through LKDave...but there were some crossed wires. Mike handed me the book and said 'you're not Clare, are ya?!!!!'...I was a tad confused and said I was yeah and he said 'No way are you old enough to have been at the Bridge!!!' I hadn't a clue what he was on about but seems when he was asked to sign it earlier, it was mentioned that I was at Stamford Bridge (the week before for the Carling Cup) but he thought I was there in 85/86...so my book reads 'to Clare....and great memories of Stamford Bridge'! Funny, as a 4yr old, I don't think I woulda appreciated the match!
