Been gambling away the last number of years, not massive stakes but id throw 20 / 30 into the account every so often if i was staying in of a weekend. I'd bet on the footie, nfl, college football etc. But what ever i win, i always end up losing it again. I know thats how the bookies get you. but you often hear of people making a living of gambling, really, is it possible??
if it was i think we would all be at it having said that ive just made 250 on the tennis and 100 on footy today but that dont happen that often
Theres a software that you can get that helps you do it I think. You have to train for ages though I think.
Apart from having a bot doing it on betfair for you yes you can with with discipline, knowledge, homework and money.
I would add balls of steel to that aswell. Not many in the world would be able to put 60k down to win 6k.You need to be able to drop that 60k and move on without it effecting you.
i was at the dogs a few weeks ago and this fella no older than 16 was betting mad money on dogs and winnin mad money everytime. i say he made a mint that night. so im guessin in 2 nights at the dogs that young lad could make a weeks wages with no tax involved
Its not as simple as that, you would have to factor in all the nights is lost his shirt. Most serious gambling is online these days.
60K...Oh iv being betting all afternoon. Started with 30 got to 70 now back at 50 with two pending bets. But i have been tempted with in play betting to bet the lot on what looks like a certainty, but if it loses im bust and have to throw more into the pot. 60K to make 6K, would that be like betting 60K on Man U when they were 3-0 up or something.
Aido you should try a challenge log and post all tour bets and winnings. Some of the threads on boards of lads who done this is quiet interesting.
Not necessarily,I went through a faze of reading some high end sports betting blogs. Its very interesting. For example a near dead cert coming up this week would be Inter V Trabzonspor,Inter are around 4/11 to win the game.Trabzonspor are a late entry into the champs league so it should be a easy enough game in saying that the Italian's were on strike and are only back but I would be confident of a Inter win. So the aforementioned 60k @ 4/11 will return around about 8k.Nice money if a)you have it and b) have the balls to drop it if Inter fcuk up.
As Rover said. if you have good knowledge (preferably a bit of insider knowledge) and you have the bucks to back things up, and you can lose the occasional big one and not panic, then Yes. But if you're referring to doing accum's and trebles on football, then No. Its going to lose you more than it will ever win you. I've done a bit of everything (insert sex joke here) and my biggest losses have been football and Gaa. Biggest wins have been golf and nags. I don't know jack shit about golf or nags. So it was always tips. I think that says it all really. The draw is yer enemy in football. For the odds they give, its not really worth yer while in the long-run. I stopped gambling on football recently and it was mainly due to the fact that my team never usually lost, but i got killed on draws. To be honest Aidan, the very fact you're even asking this question, makes me think you already know the answer.
yeap i know but i seem to throw money away fairly handy, i need to get out of that first then i might do it - ie do the research and only bet on those matches, no in play betting at all
Not really. You can make money from poker but that doesnt count as gambling to me. You cant generally beat the bookies in some thing but in some sports tips can get you far and the more you know the better off you will be
ha ha, i do know the answer, but i can afford 20 quid a week to bet, but as you say i have never won at accums and draws are the distaster, i usually go for the goals market - ie in spain and germany alot of the games are high scoring but i always end up losing eventually
Poker is where its at lads. Play the double up tournaments, I play 4 at a time now, and have a system, I win (so far) 80% cent of the time. I started doing the 1dollar tables, 6 people at a table and tope 3 double up. When I won $10 I moved up to $2 tables, again when I won $10 dollars, I moved up to $5 dollar tables, stayed there until I won $100 dollars, and now I play the $25 dollar games I only play one of those at a time as I can't afford to be losing them, but with the $5 dollar and below, you just need to enter the tournament and "sit out" the other eejits knock each other out and you win, very very(and I mean very) rarely will you get knocked out/lose this way, easy way to make money for nothing. My next step is the $50 or $100 tables. So far I've lost about 20 dollars doing it, and won $300 dollars. PS: You also need to know how to play poker (but I assume that went without saying)
I did this for a while on online roulette and it was good for the odd little earner (say £40) but long term doesn't work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system) Also did a similar thing on horses - betting always on teh favourite on whatever was the next race. I had to bringa calculator to work out how much to bet on the next race so I would cover previous loses - so I was putting on bets like £113.76. Anyway that too was suject to Gamblers Fallacy and when I had to bet £1k (at 19 years old - almost all the money in my bank) to finish the day £25 up I decided it wanst really on.
You can do similar in a casino in Vegas, you just need enough cash so that they will loan you as much as you need. You can technically keep betting, and tripling your stake on RED/Black on roultete, and you will eventually win, and its virtually no risk. I'll go into more detail when I'm not sloshed and on the phone.
