Some people have been reporting the site loading very slow the last week or so.We may have to move up a peg in the hosting but before I do that there are a couple of small things I can do that may make things faster.I will try them out over the next couple of days.
The first up is the Mega threads,Every 10th post on a thread, VBulletin implements a recount on the number of posts on it to make sure it's correct which has implications for the number of pages and so on.On mega threads, this is absolutely crippling us.I have decided to go with a 10k max posts per thread there are only a couple of threads around this mark,the off topic one and the Todays matches one come to mind.Its a easy fix I will just close them and make a mark 2.
The other area I am going to look at is large Sig's,I have had complaint's from lads as well that some are to big especially when using your phone.So I am going to work out a max size these can be.So be warned if you have a large Sis get it resized.One thing to note here you can turn Sig's off in your User CP if you don't want to see them.
