Looks like Trap has dropped Doyle for the Slovakia game. Tough decision but on form you can't really argue too much, 3 strikers all worthy of their place. Predictable enough team apart from that, good to see Wardy get the nod at left full, is Andrews the best we have centre mid with Whelan? That would have to be a worry.

4 points would be brilliant, the most important thing is win tomorrow though.

    Given
    O Shea
    Ward
    Dunne
    St Ledger
    Duff
    McGeady
    Whelan
    Andrews
    Keane
    Long.

Its probably the 1st time time since big Jack that we've dropped a top player in his prime, nice complaint to have all the same. Keane's place must be under serious threat now.

McCarthy drafted into squad too, might be a good option if we need a goal late on.

You'd have thought so but if he keeps churning out performaces like in Macedonia then his club form is irrelevant.

Think he will play Doyle as a lone striker in Russia hence he left him out for Slovakia.

How Wes Hoolahan isn't in this squad is a joke. No creativity in the centre of midfield, going to be a borefest tomorrow nite at home when we should be going out and attacking these guys.

Slovakia are a decent team on the road.I still think we should get the win which will set us up nicely for the trip to Moscow.

Looks like a good team. I like Andrews he is a battler in the midfield and puts in decent performances when chosen!

4 points should be what we are aiming for. You'd take 3 in a worst case scenario, any less is a disaster. But 4 is very achievable.
