Mine would be: ----------------------Reina------------------------ Magic---------Agger/Coates-------Carra--------Jose ----------------------Lucas------------------------ ---------------Stevie---------Adam---------------- ----Bellamy/Kuyt-----------------------Downing---- ---------------------Suarez------------------------
Its amazing, how we are going full circle. I dont think there is any one team that would be stronger than the next. Look at us this time last season, if we left our most expensive striker and Gerrard out of the team, you would think we are fecked. Look at us now, you could leave our most expensive striker and Gerrard out of the team and we still would be a strong team. Thats what Henry, Camolli and Kenny have brought to the club. And it feels good, real good.
That's not really a strongest 11 Mine would be: Reina Johnson Coates Agger Enrique Lucas Gerrard Adam Kuyt Downing Suarez Subs: Doni, Kelly, Carragher, Maxi, Carroll, Henderson, Bellamy
so would I actually, and Kenny has proved in the past he is a fan of that system, but what 3 and where would you play them at the back??? ----------Coates--------Carra----------Agger----------
Just as above, with Glen and Jose as wing backs. Midfield of Lucas with Adam and Downing ahead of him and then Stevie off Luis.
Reina Kelly Carra Agger Enrique Bellamy Stevie Lucas Downing Kuyt Suarez I don't see Gerrard playing off Suarez as I feel with the way Suarez drops deep,we're better playing him alongside an out and out striker or even in a three man attack. I think Kelly is our best right back and I've never seen Coates play so I can't pick him. Bellamy has a great work rate and could easily find himself up front in that formation, interchanging with kuyt or Suarez. His pace is also a big factor. Lucas and Stevie have to start for me and I'd pick Kuyt ahead of Carroll at the moment because I think he compliments Suarez better. Downing would be a definite starter too. I don't think that's the line up Kenny would consider his strongest though,as I think he really likes Charlie Adam. But with everyone fit I don't think Charlie Adam will get into a 442,unless we see Stevie on the right, but we'll see I suppose. Exciting times.
I think that's more likely. Would agree with the team you have but taking out Bellamy, with Stevie on the right and Adam in the middle instead.
I dont know how anyone could leave Gerrard out of the strongest 11. He might not be the free goal scoring midfielder that he was but he is still one of the best midfielders in the world
The best 11 depends on who we are playing against. Do you think in our next game that Andy Carroll won't start against Stoke and all their giants? He isn't in anyones team. Also I am as optimistic as everyone about Coates but surely nobody here has seen him play more than three 90 minutes so don't see how he could be included yet. For our next game my best 11 would be. Pepe Kelly (or Skrtel for aerial ability if Kelly's not fit) Carra Agger Enrique Lucas Adam Downing Gerrard (if fit, unlikely for Stoke so probabaly Dirk) Luis Carroll
As Kenny said the squad will be more successful than the team. I honestly don't know what our strongest 11 is. Look at the amount of systems we can play now and the flexibility and versatility among the squad. We can play 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2,4-5-1. Its been a brilliant window. Its been an amazing effort from Kenny and Damien for the work they have done on getting rid of all the players on big wages and surplus to requirements. I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get that Phil Jones but I read somewhere that Coates cost less than half the price and is a better centre half. We have signed all these players and then we have Stevie G to come back. That's going to almost like a new signing.
Yeah defo stevie has been out a while the team is playing fantastic so he won't get straight back in to the team my team might be different when he is back a few weeks
Reina Kelly ******* ******* Enrique Lucas ******** Gerrard ******* Downing Suarez 7 starters for me regardless of opposition, have a feeling Kenny has Carra as another certainty but I think he's reached the point where opposition is a major factor in whether to play him or not. Think Carroll may struggle for game time as he's the only forward we have who can't really play in a front 3.
