whats the usb on the sky box for?

    anyone know if this has a function regarding the sky box??

    i tried copying recorded programmes on my planner to a usb stick but no joy as it just says get your VCR ready to record!!

    just wondering whats the craic with it??

    i'm not sure but it could be for updating the firmware on the box.

    As far as my research has told me, it's been useless since Sky+'s inception - similarly the other interesting features on the backplate (such as the ethernet port and the SATA port) are totally redundant to the end user.


    But you can use it to charge your iPod or phone etc ;)
