Probably a silly thread to start but I've never started a sensible one....

Just wondering, IF you were an Arsenal fan would you want Wenger to stay or go?

I never thought I'd see the day that this would even be worthy of discussion.
    I've always liked him.

But everything seems to be going tits up for them.

Boo'd off last week, and concede 8 goals today.

As Wenger says himself he only brings someone in if they're better than what he already has. Not sure they can get a better manager myself, the usual suspects like Moyes, O'Neill, Roy:D etc don't have the ability to use the "footballers" he has at that club. They've signed the chink from Monaco tonight so imo they are not that short, Cahill, Arteta and a left back and they would be compeditive again.

My dad's a gooner and at this stage he absolutely hates wenger, hes been calling for his head for a while now.... He is just absolutely sick of him and his transfer policy of buying players for the future as Arsenal are in dire need of players that can make an impact now.
This would be pretty much what i'd be thinking if i was an Arsenal fan too, hes too stubborn and IMO he needs to go, hes been there a long time and did a good job, but maybe now its time to let somebody else have a go.

I suspect Arsenal are going through a little bit of what we've had to put up with, during the G&H era ..... nothing as sever, but there's seems to be something more going on there than it just being a selling club these days.

Personally, I think they are lucky to have Wenger at the moment, would have thought other teams would have come in for him by now .....

Anyway, bottom line is whats bad for them is probably good for LFC so lets move on :)

Have 2 Arsenal fan friends and they say they'll always stick by Wenger!
You have to laugh tho, they are in crisis at the moment, and have been crying out for a couple of world class defenders and keeper and to splash the 60 million they have got for Fabregas & Nasri.....and his next signing is.....a korean striker who nobody has really heard of for a few million :D

Yeah.He has done a lot of good things during his time with Arsenal mainly preventing
the mancs from increasing their League trophy haul but his time is up.Having said that I can't see him being pushed. The club owe him more than that and to let him leave with some dignity. He will resign imo. He's 11/8 with PP not to last the season.

I still don't think that it is worthy of discussion. It will do them no good to let him go.

What people don't seem to realise is that Arsenal have had no money for the last few years (this summer apart but he only has a few days to spend it). Arsenal board have always come out and said that there is money to spend if he wants it but its not true. It has all gone on the stadium. Wenger does the sensible thing and rather than complain about funds (like many mangers we know!) he plays along.

Football fans are ridiculously fickle. A new manager is not the answer for them.

The whole thing about a team of kids was exposed today though surely....

Average age of UTD squad: 23
Average age of Arsenal squad: 23.6

Arsenal aren't too young a squad, they're just shit. :D

The main reason why Arsenal have been as good as they have in the last 10 years is Wenger, but also the main reason why they are in the mess they are at the moment is Wenger, its a tough one. Regarding unknown Korean striker, Wenger was unknown manager when appointed, and he wasn't a bad appointment, plus he is probably the best manager at spoting talent.

No chance quality manager, If we can build a new ground and maintain there levels of performance I would be ecstatic. DEBT FREE. Great model, when the shit hits the fans financially there in an amazing position.

Get off the mans back I say, hes delivered before using his own mentality the public outcry for him to spend 100 million on a 28 year old english man is ridiculous.

Kids don't win championships - hopefully that rules the scum out.

Wenger is living on what he achieved years ago. He's shown in the past 6 years that without buying quality and actually spending decent amounts you don't have a squad to play with.

I don't think he's going to go ( which is good news for all other teams) but if I was in charge of any premiership team that got rolled over as they were todsy, I'd do the decent thing.

Against us, the ref was. biased and we had two lucky offside goals....guess he was at a different game then.

For him to say that they were tired in the second half because of playing Wednesday - sounds like an excuse we used to get from a manager - its pure bolla!x.

Wonder what Comolli was doing at scum central today?

*Silently hopes Van Persie's had enough and wants out.

As to the question, I'd be looking for a new boss if I were a gooner. This, "we have some great young talent coming through" business must be wearing thin at this point.

I think Arsenal fans are the ones to ask in all fairness.

The majority I've spoken to say if he hasn't done some significant deals before this window closes, it's only a matter of time before the rope tightens around his neck.

If other managers opinions are to be taken as gospel, Kenny, Whiskey nose, etc, etc... then he should be given time.

Listened to Wenger after the match today and felt a modicum of sorrow for him - he's done alot for and in the English game, and theres no denying he is a good manager.

This is make or break time for him and the gooners.
He could easily leave for a club on the up, PSG to name but one, and leave the 'snel in a right old mess.

I don't think he'll leave of his own accord, but he needs reinforcements to go with the players that will come back from suspension and injury.

They are paying the price for not preparing for life without fabregas and nasri. It's been no secret that they have a small enough squad each season and injuries usually hamper them.Wenger should walk if he doesn't get money. If the money is there and he still hasn't replaced nasri and fabregas it's going to be a really tough few months for them.rvp will be next out the door IMO.

IF he has he the money, and for some ideological or unknown reason doesn't want to spend the funds needed to strengthen Arsenal with the experienced signings they clearly need, then I would have to say, if I was an Arsenal fan, I would want him to go.

IF however, there are no funds to be had, who in hells name would Arsenal possibly get to replace him? But if they don't have any money, why go out and spend 12 million on a young winger from Southampton when there are around 7 other positions that need looking at.

Jesus, I don't know, just be glad we're not Arsenal fans I suppose.
