Chancing my arm here - I'm looking at getting one of the (recently reduced to €99) HP Touchpad 16GB tablets. Harvey Normans sold out today. PC World/Currys have only a few going on sale in the morning. Argos etc haven't reduced their prices (yet).

On the off chance that someone on here might be able to help me get one - if you can - drop me a pm :) Appreciated!

They've stopped supporting the OS they run on, so we're hoping they can port Android to it ;)

This just popped up on boards relating to PC World. I won't be able to make 10am I reckon - and they won't allow reservations :(

    Right, here goes.

Stocks are available from 10.00 tomorrow morning in all stores below. Jervis St, Blanchardstown and Currys Galway all open at 09.30. All stock will be sold on a first come, first served basis. The stock we have is limited and has all been reserved for customers. Price for the 16 GB is € 99.99 and it's € 129.99 for the 32 GB

    Stocks as follows ;

    Jervis St - 10
PC World Liffey Valley - 8
    PC World Carrickmines - 7
PC World Mahon Point - 6
    Currys Galway - 5
    PC World Galway - 8
    Currys & PC World Blanchardstown - 5
    Currys & PC World Airside - 6

The stock is generally split 50/50 for both types. Best of luck.

I'm in the market for a new laptop, is this an alternative to a laptop?

When did Harvey Norman announce they were selling these for €99?
There was a Harvey Norman mag with one of the papers yesterday and in that they were €399.

Went in to currys in the jervis centre just before 6 and enquired about these touchpads,I wanted to know if they were restricted to 1 per person, she couldn't/wouldn't answer that.
Anyway, there's actually only 5 on sale tomorrow morning, she said 5 people came in today and paid full price for them.why you'd want to do that I don't know but there's obviously a method to their madness.
I was going to go in in the morning but I'm not going to bother me hole now..

I'd say they paid full price, then will argue when they collect tomorrow that its 99 and will get it for that price, it return it, get your money back then buy it again.

But surely the would've bought them in-store today therefore no need to collect tomorrow.
Can ye buy/reserve stuff on the currys website and collect from a store?
