Im heading over with nephew next friday morning and not home til the tuesday. We are obviously going to match on saturday and going to blackpool on sunday or monday but looking for some other things to do while we're away and am thinking about bringing him to melwood one morning to see training and hopefully get some autographs. Anyone here done this before or have any helpful info for me regarding times etc. ?
They start leaving normally 45 mins after the game, depending on the player though Carra and Stevie may have extra commitments and be longer etc.
Nice one, may chance waiting with the nephew next week (Feck Stevie and Carra, ther'es only 1 I want to see)
Shook his hand and briefly spoke with him after Spurs last season, always signs autographs so your in for a treat.
If you are going to go to Blackpool by train go via Preston and you could visit the National Football Museum
The football museum closed last year Lionel. We went on 1st May last year to Preston for the day to see it, closed 30th April. Typical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moved to Manchester, not sure if it opened yet. Think it's opening early next year for Olympics.
Walking out last weekend, i seen all their cars. Some strange Number plates.Seens Ngog's car as he have his name on his number plate.I wonder who's Jeep is Has a regsistration reading "7pac" on it.. Oooo and by the way Drop SOC a PM as he has been up at the training ground and met quiet a few of the players. Also i think he has met them outside anfield too.
We went to Anfield early for Sunderland game and any player that was around signed autographs and had pictures taken with people. Maybe that's an idea for you.
Think it`s usually couple of hours before kick off but as they arrive by coach and are ushered straight into stadium theres no chance of getting anything signed. Maybe it`s possible to get them when they come out onto the pitch and you`re able to call them over but this won`t be possible for us as we`re in Upper Anfield Road. I suppose waiting around after could be an option but would prefer to go to Melwood when probably have less people around and a better idea of times. Also, are we allowed to actually watch the training or just wait outside?
Do they not all drive? From what I've seen before they just get out the car and walk through the crowd to the players entrance
Well the few times that I have been at the ground early enough to see them arrive they arrive in the coach so assume they probably drive to melwood and leave their cars there? Definitely the past 2 seasons v united cos have been there waiting to see them with nephew on my shoulders as he took pictures of ours boys and shouted abuse and booed the united ones! Saying that, I do remember his first ever match v sheff utd when a speeding Stevie g almost knocked me down in his 4x4 while taking pictures of Hillsborough memorial!
