Just watching the Bayern v Zurich match, and I don't think I've ever seen him play well, he missed a shameful chance in the game. I read about his record and he gets a run on occasion for Germany but this lad is lost on me. I don't rate him at all. Am I missing something?
Bayern wanted to sell him last year, so due to Injury he got his chance and banged in a few hat tricks and a shed load of braces and goals. They then couldn't drop him and became their top striker. & He's not gay contrary to popular belief.
His goal record is pretty good but i'm the same as you anytime i see him play he never looks up to much. Bit of a Pat Butcher, all fur coat, no knickers.
Bren I would agree with you, every time I watch him he misses a bucket load of chances, I dont rate him at all, very frustrating player to watch!
He can often look like a donkey but if you watched him pre bayern you could see there's a borderline top class strikers in there. Don't think the pressure for bayern or Germany (for whom he was hailed as the cf for the next decade) has helped him but he will still always score goals, in an old fashioned battering ram style, he just won't look too stylish doing it
RTE doing a good job of making him look shit tonight. But tonight i think his confidence was poor which meant his first touch was poor which meant any chance he had was never going to go near the net. He is not a world class striker, like fowler, Drogba or Messi.He is a big lump of a lad like crouch who has bagged goals.But not world class.
