I use Skype for the free PC to PC calls but that's about it. Does anyone buy credit on it or register a number? I'm living in Canada at the mo and read up a bit about it. Should I register an irish num on it so I could ring home and vise versa for the price of a local call? Anything else clever I could do? Thanks.
I used it when my Brother was in America. Its handy alright. He was on his computer and i was on my iphone so worked out grand.Personally i wouldnt bother Buying credit for the thing as it works fine enough with out the credit.Great Idea who ever came up with it, as i saved a fortunte ringing america to speak to him.
The only reason i'd get the credit or a monthly subscription is because my mother wouldn't be technologically advanced to even care to have a laptop etc. She has to go down to my sisters to Skype me. Might just buy credit and see what value i get from it.
My mother and father weren't either but before the brother went away he set up their Skype accounts for them and showed them how to use it and they were fine . I remeber working with a girl a while ago and she and her boyfriend had bought themselves skye phones as he was in England and she was in Ireland and it was saying them a fortune. This must have been about 5 years ago. Don't think they were that expensive either.
Update; I bought a tenner credit and it last me for ages. i was able to ring landlines of a few people back home who didn't have any internet in their houses. However, it's giving me an option to set up an online number. A number that someone back home can ring for a local price and it will divert it to my laptop. Do I need to select an irish online number so or the country im currently residing in? I presume it's an irish one?
