I will be happy enough if he's our next signing.Baines would be my preferred option
but that was never going to be realistic.Hope it goes through without much delay.

Tele: Enrique is yet to agree personal terms as he is looking for £60,000 a week, although the move should go through before 13th august

Enrique, who has only one season remaining on his contract and has been agitating to leave, has been the subject of a protracted courtship by Kenny Dalglish, but the Spaniard will be obliged to lower his personal demands to secure a deal which would cost Liverpool about £6 million. The left back earns £46,000 a week at Newcastle but is said to want £60,000.

    From the Times.

As said a few times, would have loved to get Baines but in fairness that was never in any way likely. Be happy with Enrique to be honest, a specialist left back with plenty going forward, Doubtless his defending can be improved by the coaches we have now too.

If its wages are the only hurdle now, has anyone got any idea what the average wage is at Liverpool? I know the stalwarts and bosmans are on 90-110k supposedly but what would a squad player be on do we reckon?

Seems some Newcastle ITK hS got his wires crossed , Newcastle have signed a player called Hooper who is a Liverpool fan , not a Liverpool player.

    Ah well

Seen a few places mentioning Joe Cole hence why the figure is 10 mill. Can't see it been true though.

I like Enrique but i hope we don't fold to his wage demands if thats what he's looking for, imo he'll be here for a few years untill robinson develops a bit more and then we'll probably get rid, if he's on stupid wages we'd never get rid, something which is happening with our players now.

Newcastle have conceded defeat in their attempts to keep left-back Jose Enrique at the club, paving the way for a £5m move to Liverpool to be completed this week.

I would have my doubts about him defensively, good going forward but not sure he will greatly improve our defence which we badly need to do. At least he is a natural left sided player.
