the better half is thinking of getting a lap-top in the next while as the pc we have is 6 years old and its starting to show its age performance wise.were gonna need to switch to someone that provides wi-fi so im sussing out options and ive a few questions im sure someone here can answer

1.does upc need the landline connected even if you dont want a landline in?it seems the best speed and price wise but if ive to go through the hassle of getting the landline sorted its out

2.anyone use 3 mobiles wi-fi router?is it any use and is it reliable?

3.have i missed anyone out provider wise thats good value for money in relation to speed?

UPC don't require a phone line, I'd use them if I were you they are the best, steer clear of WiMax at all costs, and mobile broadband ain't that great, especially if you plan on going down the route of GDLUCKXABI's "mate"

I use 3's mi-fi as I have no other real option and it's not too bad. Granted UPC or Eircom (maybe) would be better in terms of relability
