    fair fcukin play to them.
That home game against Copenhagen could be fcukin massive, hopefully the tie is still alive by the time that comes around.
Is this the closest a LOI team has got to the group stages?

Nearly sure Shelbourne were at the same stage a few years back, but I could be horribly wrong, or maybe that was the UEFA Cup?

    Fair play to them nonetheless.

So is this Rovers into the 3rd round of the Qualifying stage? The same round as Arsenal and the other Big teams are in?

Well done to them. Will give the league a boost and also will do Ireland Proud too.

Yep Shels got to the same round and drew Deportivo La Coruna, and were beaten 3-0 on aggregate.

Yeah you're right, just checked and when they played deportivo it was the 3rd qualifying round.
Copenhagen are obviously a good side but ye never know.
It'd be amazing to see an Irish team in the CL,it'd do wonders for the league..

Well done Rovers. It's going to be a difficult tie against Copenhagen
but if they come back to Tallaght even 1-0 down I would fancy them
    to progress.
I remember Shelbourne going close back in 2004 against Deportivo. They drew
the home leg from what I remember.I think that's the closest a LOI team has
    come to qualifying.

Never ever will I forget How Jayo Byrne nearly put us 1-0 up in Coruna. Held them scoreless for hour away, fun times

Hope Rovers can do one better than us, league is due a boost

They are guaranteed at least 4 more games which should
help the clubs finances no end.

If they beat Copenhagen they still have to play a play off with the likes of Arensal coming in at that stage so still a long way to go before they reach the group stages :( but fair play good result.

Bayern or Arsenal would be a good money spinner all the same.

A win over Copenhagen guarantees a place at least in group stages of Europa league I think

the 3rd qualifying round used to be the round before you got into the group stages, i remember shels in 04 against coruna, 0 - 0 in lansdowne then ten mins into the second half jason byrne missed a free header from 6 yards out, if he scored id have fancied shels as they were comfartable, once la coruna got 1 and shels had to come out it was game over.

I think if rovers win they are guaranteed at least 4 more european ties
