Had a quick look there at this weeks US golf. The one value bet that jumps out at me is John Rollins EW with Boyles or Ladbrokes @ 40/1. The course that the tournament is played on seems like a piece of p1ss, ranked 43rd (out of 52 courses) in difficulty on the PGA TOUR in 2010, last years winner was Steve Stricker on a score of -26 (Stricker is 7/1 fav this year). Rollins was 2nd in The Travelers Championship two weeks back on a score of -19 shooting plenty of birdies along the way. You could do far worse than have a few quid on at 40/1 this week.
I love these kinds of bets. Well ranked outsiders at great value. I know **** all about golf but when there is a couple of euro on it, it can get interesting . I think I'll have some of it had 40-1. Colm is also a good one for posting the golf tips as he had Adam Scott at 28-1 last week. This is my kind of betting.
That might be worth a few punts e/w.He's into 33/1 now with PP.I'm going for Jason Day to win it.He's only 10/1 but it's just a feeling.Steve Stricker is such a short price because he is on for 3 in a row.My outside bet is Bryce Molder at 40/1.He had 4 rounds below 70 at the weekend and is definitely worth a small e/w.
I'll be backing Jason Day, he's my favorite golfer. Still have him backed to win The Open Will also get on Rollins E/W
Ddi anybody just watch that programme on BBC 1 about Rory? After watching it is hard to justify backing anybody else for The Open even though I think 6/1 is very skinny. I am on Westwood already though.
Watched it. BBC fairly hit the jackpot following him this years. Disaster at Masters to romping the US Open. Seems down to earth lad. Difficult to win back to back majors though. Been following Adam Scott for last few years and goin to stick wit him for last two majors along with Mickelson.
He's definitely worth a punt e/w at that price considering his performances in the previous 2 Majors.I'm going on Westwood purely out of sentiments. He will certainly be there or there abouts on the final day.
Had a couple of quid on John Rollins. He is still 40-1 on Boylesports whereas he is only 33-1 with Powers.Unusual for Boylesports to have better odds for a change.
Stricker loves this place if I remember correctly. Goydos had a 60 or 61 there last year to open day 1. Anders Romero could do well there likewise Di Marco. I have been watching Di Marco for a while now, he is starting to come around I believe. Chris Kirk after a good week last week 66/1 looks inviting. Will have a better look tomorrow & pick 1 out.
Bets will need to be placed before 12 for this.John Rollins tees off at 1745 Irish time.We should catch his back 9 on Sky tonight. His 2nd round starts at 1230 tomorrow.
Forget John Rollins alraedy. -1 at the moment and a long putt to make bogey on his 15th hole. I hate not getting a run for my money. Only saviour I have now is a very unlikely EW double on Zach Johnson and Graeme McDowell. At least I might get a run from that!!
I wouldn't write him off just yet.The early starters seem to have had the better conditions today.Hopefully it will be the same tomorrow and he could shoot a decent score. I backed Jason Day to win it -3 and Bryce Molder e/w level as well as Rollins.
