I have to say I am a bit worried to say the least . If we are to be serious title contenders surley we should be looking at singing some world class players.
All i am hearing the last few weks are names like charlie adams and stewart downing . These are not world class players .
I dont know about the rest of you but I think now is the time to act , I am sure you all work or socialise with Man u fans and are tired of hearing them gloat .
I sincerely hope that there is alot more going on in the backround than is rumoured
We wont be knocking anyone of therir perch unless drastic action is taken.

mate i dnt think we will be making many wrld class signings for a while, we need to build to that, CL footy attracts the world class signings, so for now, we have to sign players that can help take us there, & then look at the world class signings

    what a first post:rolleyes:

No CL football is going to hinder the signing of Messi, ronaldo and Co.

I want my club to build for the future, and it looks like thats what DC and the King are doing, buying young talent to complement what is coming through the acadamy. In 2-3 years we will be up there winning titles but first we have to get back into that top 4.

I've never even heard of this Adams lad we are linked with

Patience and being in the dark is not a virtue many football fans are blessed with it seems.

Have to say I'm smiling with all the names we are linked with on twatter and the rags and people getting in a tizzy. Really nobody has a clue what is going on, there are no ITKs anymore, journos or otherwise. Nobody has a clue who we are interested in bar those on the inside and thats is the way it should be imo.

I will think about worrying once the transfer window closes (not before the european window has even opened ).

I could see this thread being binned, welcome to the site by the way

Not in the least bit worried, more than half way through the Jan transfer window we signed f-all and sold Babel. Then come the end of the window we made the best signing in the league and broke our record too. We asked all along that business would be done behind closed doors and now it is people seem rattled. I would be amazed if negotiations arent ongoing for a few players in and out. There could even be a deal or 2 done already just waiting to be anounced or finalised. Done believe the press in the players we have been linked with we have all seen someone on a forum says I would like X player and then 2 or 3 days later lo and behold the rags have us linked with them. Sure John o'shea was even linked at one stage. And twitter just makes things worse. Enjoy the speculation from the rags but dont take any too seriously sure they are just playin football manager too much, we all know how kenny is going to do business and thats the way it should be.Sly sports or the rags or anyone on twitter havent a clue whats going on and that means more rumours than usual.

    be patient lads be patient

I dont believe in signing very high profile playersas they are usually mad over priced, charlie adam is one of the nearest british players to alonso imo .

he mightened be a worldie but has the potential to be , as for downing i never really rated him tbh ,I reckon there will be a huge clear out of all the dead wood before we start buying

Being honest I think it is better we promote within with the prices quoted - Morgan/Ngoo/Stirling will be involved in the 1st team next season

I get the impression that while some people are saying they're delighted we're back doing things the right way(behind closed doors),they're not delighted at all. It's actually driving them mad, hence why people are getting so worked up about players we're linked(or not linked with) in the media.

No they won't, they are too young and untested.

Let them travel with the first team in pre season, play a few friendlies and let them develop. They are for the future.

If we are putting our hopes on these lads to get us back in the champions league we are in big trouble. We need to add 3 or 4 quality signings to squad who will make an impact on the first team, not average squad players. We have too many of those already.

We're all f**ked. First Torres leaves, now targets likes Jones, Young & Wickham slipping through our fingers, I'm off to kick the cat in the tit. F**ks sake Parry.

    :D

sorry I'll try to tone it down a bit!!!

Seriously guys I dont think anyone will complain if Liverpool are back in 4th next May (maybe a good cup run too). It would represent a good step forward and then we can talk about taking the next step and challenging for the title.

Although I get the impression that some fans wont be happy with anything less than a title charge under the king, forgetting that we were 7th and 6th the last 2 seasons and had a threadbare squad.

I find this unbelievable. This time last season we were in one of the darkest places ever seen by this football club. Cancers, protests, boycotting, an idiotic board/MD, back-stabbing, "senior sources", administration, leveraged debt - blah blah blah.

Fast forward 12 months. New owners, manager, linked with players we might actually have a chance of signing, bright future, etc etc. But apparently that isn't enough. What do you people want exactly?

I'm happy. In fact I am ****ing delighted. This is the best summer I have had as a fan in a number of years; there is promise. Some of you would do well to remember the path we've travelled, and that patience will be required to build a new empire.
