Those rankings are crazy,. Maybe it's a golden hand shake for the world cup bid? FIFA corruption at it's finest.
The draw for the next World Cup is been held on July 30th using this lasted rankings to seed the teams.No there is no need for that,why not let the groups play out and use the final position's to see the teams...?Ireland are a third seed yet there is a small (very small but still) possibility thats Ireland could win the group and surly that would improve the pot we are in.
Yeah I thought the same but I guess its down to the quality of opposition, a few points in the games against Russia and Slovakia will move us up a good bit.
I may be wrong but there last 2 fixtures have been 2-2 with Switzerland in a euro and 1-1 with Ghana in an International friendly so how HOW can they go up to fourth in the world!
I wish FIFA would just come out an explain how the ranking and points work properly and not the you need a maths degree version. If it was me it would be something along the lines if you beat someone in the top 20 (at the time you play them) you get 10 points, teams between 40-21 9 points and so on and a draw is say a flat 2-3 points no matter what country you are meaning the onus ranking wise is always to try and win and friendlies carry the same points as competitive games. No way should England be no. 4 but I guess this what plays into their delusion they are a decent side and always expect to win tournaments before the fall to pieces as they think they are the 4th best team in the world.
