Looks like it's a response to this. Very odd though still. Craig Thomson will continue his career with Hearts after he was placed on the sex offenders register. Last week, Thomson pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent behaviour for lewd and libidinous behaviour towards two girls, aged 12 and 14. The player has apologised for his crimes and Hearts said his "grave error of judgement" was due to "naivety and possible wrong outside influence". The 20-year-old will resume training at the club with immediate effect. However, Thomson will not be with the rest of the first-team squad when they fly out to their Italian training camp on Saturday. The full-back issued an apology via the club website, saying that he is "fully aware that I have let everyone down". He added: "I personally make no excuses for what I did but I would like to thank the club for studying the entire circumstances around the matter. "I am fully aware of the extreme pressure the club faced from individuals and organisations that were not in full possession of the facts surrounding my situation. "My aim now is to move on and develop my career and I know this will only happen with the support of my family, friends and the club." Hearts posted two statements on the matter on their website. The first read: "The club views this matter very seriously and does not condone the behaviour of the player. Appropriate action to prevent any further development of unlawful activities has been taken. "In reaching this decision, the club accepted that there are sufficient mitigating circumstances that provide significant assurance that the player's conduct, no matter how distasteful, was the result of a grave error of judgement due to naivety and possible wrong outside influence rather than anything more sinister and it will not be repeated." Then, early on Friday evening, the club issued another statement which refers to "outside influences on players and the club". A section of the statement said: "What's happening with the club today is not a new thing. "For almost seven years we have been fighting to shield the club from crooks, criminals and thieves. "Many of the top players at the club have felt the bitter results of the swindles that have been carried out with them on their own skin. Skacel and Webster have returned to the club after realising where these 'football patriots' have led them. "Every year Hearts fights to be in the top three, but even last season in the last 12 games of the season it was almost like someone replaced the team with a different one. "Whose fault is that? Players'? Manager's? Or it is mafia." Meanwhile, Icelandic international defender Kari Arnason will travel to Tuscany for a trial period. The 28-year-old has been with Plymouth for two years but has been released due to the financial problems the League Two club are encountering. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13901775.stm
A strange statement from a strange club. It's got Romanov's hallmark written all over it.And to think he could quite easily own our Club.Dodged a bullet there.Mind you we walked straight into a landmine.
Will be interesting to see if that remains on their website. Could their site have been hacked? It is bizarre!
Romanov is a nut job first off.He has ruined that club. The amount of managers he has gone through in his short spell there,Makes Mike Ashley look a saint.I think he wants to manage the team himself. The statement which was posted smacks of some one who is very parnoid about his players and his club.
In a statement issued to Press Association Sport in response to the statement, Mackay said: "The Hearts record appearance holder with 737 appearances declined to comment."
Hearts suspend Thomson with immediate effect Hearts have announced that they have suspended full back Craig Thomson with immediate effect. The 20-year-old was convicted, two weeks ago, of lewd, libidinous and indecent behaviour towards two underage girls, and was placed on the sex offenders register for five years and fined £4000. On Friday, Hearts announced that they had carried out an investigation and concluded that there was ‘no reason for Craig Thomson not to continue his career as a professional footballer’. However the club faced a series of angry backlashes for their decision. A local primary school, who saw 50 of their pupils coached by the club cancelled planned coaching sessions because of the club’s decision, and numerous other school visits were cancelled also, all with the approval of Edinburgh City Council. It was then announced yesterday that drinks sponsors, MacB water, terminated their £5,000 two-year contract with the Tynecastle side. Hearts issued a brief statement today on their official website. It read: “Hearts today announce that Craig Thomson is suspended with immediate effect. No further comment will be made by the club.†As intimated in our own statement in regards to Heart’s decision, Scotzine will continue to boycott Tynecastle as long as the player is on the club’s books and they do not issue an apology to their fans and the families of the victims for the initial decision taken. No it doesnt go into enough detail for Bobby, Maj. He wants to know what exactly he did? Like did he flash them? Or cop a quick feel? Or ask them to rub his nipples? Or just sit on their faces?
From what I've read he was talking inappropriately to 2 girls on Facebook,a 12 yr old and a 14 yr old.he also sent inappropriate photos. If he didn't know how old they were there might be some excuse for him but apparently he knew one of the girls and there was webcams involved so if that's true he deserves everything he gets cos he would've known exactly how old they were.
