That a strong showing, looking at the 19's also and to think kelly and carroll prob would be in the 21's, we never looked stronger at youth levels. I think in the next 5 or six years we will see liverpool teams with 5 or 6 acadamy graduates in the first 11. Plus we have possibly the best underage coaches in the world with a proven track record. This club is deffo goin places. I think seen our youth system, we will continue to attract the best at underage level too.

The scouting mission is part of a global search to bring the best young talent to Merseyside - a search which has already identified numerous targets this summer.

"We have two scouts at the U17 World Cup and they've identified several targets from all over the world," said Comolli. "Then we've got two scouts going to the U20 World Cup. We try to be everywhere. It's very difficult to be everywhere, but we certainly try to be everywhere where we think there are quality players."

Good stuff, may I recommend young Gomez, Mr.Comolli :)

I know we were all interested in Raheem Stirling and Adam Morgan in the England setup but just thought I would do a bit of checking tonight on Tom King who was at this tournament playing for Australia

He played all the games that Australia were involved without ever been substituted but this also included the 4-0 defeat to Uzbekistan

Will be interesting to see if we hear more of this player over the next season or so.

Brazil 3-3 Germany. It's an absolutely cracking game. Both sides really going for it.Not bad considering there's nothing to play for.

Wasn't it an absolute joy to watch.Especially after all the rubbish taking place in Argentina.I'm tempted to stay up for the final.

He plays for the same club as Gomez, CF Pachuca. They should snap them both up :D

Great to see Liverpool getting these players at last. Could save the club a fortune in the medium term.

The very top lads at these World cups often become serious players.
