    Udinese defender Cristian Zapata has revealed that he is close to agreeing a deal with Liverpool.

    The Colombia international is rated as one of the best defenders in Serie A and he played a major role in helping them into the UEFA Champions League next season.

    I hate when players and/or their agents come out and speak before the club. Total lack of respect.

    Although I like the way he refers to us as a 'big team'

    I like your thinking, and with them potentially losing Sanchez they will need someone else to come in that has a reputation in Italy to possibly keep the fans happy.

    In all honesty people we go from Jones, Cahill, Shawcross, Dann, Johnson, Sakho, Kjaer, Subotic to Zapata? Don't know where this has come from but I'd rather not!!!

    John Terry, Vidic, Carragher, Hyypia, Hierro, Puyol, Pique, Nesta, Moore to name but a few who would all disagree,.

    Can't think of many black centre backs, better than the above.
