Villa bound? I bet paddy powers web site will crash with the amount of bets going on him.100/1 into 20s im been told. Edit:Straight into fav now shit the bookies are quick.
Appartently he is Favourite for the Villa Job.Mc Claren in talks with Birmingham now too. Manager roundabout over the next few weeks id imagine.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6986260,00.html He will be a popular boy with the Birmingham support if he goes to the Villa. I suppose he won't care though. Good manager by the way.
Would the Villa fans be happy with this stat though : Alex McLeish has won 26, drawn 35 and lost 39 of his 168 Premier League games in charge of Birmingham.
Dont think they said no to Rafa in fairness, Steve McClaren was the one theywere up in arms against. Most of the sensible ones were quite happy with him
Villa are in a mess. not sure what the story is with Hughes. thought he'd be a shoe in and my betfair account is done a bit as a result. was gonna back big eck at 5/7 when I heard he resigned but ive cut my losses with his circus. you'd never know what could happen yet,
Skysports.com understands Alex McLeish has resigned as boss of #BCFC and could be in line for job at #AVFC.
Brum confirm Mcleish resigned by e-mail he is now villas top name to be next manager, wonder how this will affect dann and downing for us
More chance of Dann Leaving. As for Downing, He doesnt want to sign a contract extenstion so i cant see it having much off a difference.
Look at any Villa Forum, talk to any Brummie and It was a big fat NO to the "spanish waiter" they hate him.
Did he really resign by email? Surely that cant be true? If he actually did that then he needs a slap. I doubt thats true in fairness. I think he's an awful choice for the villa job if its really going to happen. Cant see Villa taking him. But you never know with that idiot in charge. I know that martin O'Neill has his critics on here. But to go from O'Neill to Ged, to Macleish. That would be a huge step backwards for Villa. I really cant see them doing that. Its their funeral if they do.
Birmingham have confirmed Alex McLeish has resigned as manager at St Andrews. McLeish informed the club of his decision to resign in an email to acting chairman Peter Pannu. As revealed by skysports.com the former Scotland boss is thought to be the front-runner for the manager's job at city rivals Aston Villa, with the 52-year-old believed to be keen to speak to their Second City rivals. McLeish's future at Birmingham has been the subject of speculation for some time amid reports of strained relations with the club's board. Birmingham backed McLeish in the wake of their relegation from the Premier League, but put pressure on him to win promotion at the first time of asking. McLeish has now decided to quit St Andrews as he looks for pastures new and he could be quickly back in work with Villa targeting him as a replacement for Gerard Houllier A Birmingham statement read: "Birmingham City Football Club can confirm that Alex McLeish has resigned as manager. "Acting chairman Peter Pannu received an email resignation from McLeish earlier today while away on business in Amsterdam."
Resigning by email. Thats incredible. Why would any fan welcome the likes of him at their club after that. I cant believe he did that. What a pr**k
I would say he's a shoe in for the Villa job. They are running out of candidates and it's too much of a coincidence that he has resigned now.I'd say the Villa fans are fuming and I wouldn't blame them. Also resigning by email poor form that.
Theres no way he would be that mad to take the Villa Job.Jumping to your arch rivals would cause some amount of trouble. Imagine the Derbies between them.
