our job went under a big review last year and we agreed to some cuts and changes on the understanding a 6% pay rise would be reviewed this year.we ended up in the LRC there last month because the company wouldnt give us an answer on the pay claim one way or another and they came into the LRC and produced a document saying not only could they not pay but we needed to take more cuts.these included our christmas bonus going a premium we get for saturdays going,taking part of our bank holiday off us and halving the sick pay scheme.all while looking us to up productivity by 15%.its roughly 2500-3000 euro a year wed be down if we agreed.anyway they held a general meeting of staff there the other day and took a right kicking off the majority of the lads over it,which was good to see. i know times are tough and all but theyve admitted they are stil making money just not as much as a few years back!!!anyone else falling victim to this kinda rubbish in the work place?i dont mean genunine companies that are actually struggling just greedy ones spying a chance to actually increase profit
Had it for the last 3 yrs in my place , they put a ban on overtime but get in agency workers when there is extra work , when i tried getting others to object all they kept saying was we are lucky to have a job . I even went to the union about it and they were about as useful as a piss into a hurricane . all the company cares about is increasing its profit and cutting costs
Our place realeased their financial figures and have a $6billion cash flow (spare cash) and yet cut our pay to ensure jobs are not lost. Fooking pi$$es me right off
Happened to our job last year we all had to take a 10% hit for 2 years until the company returned to profitability. Its happening all over the shop with companies that are profitable though, Instead of companies absorbing the cost of decreased revenue they are cutting staff wages to maintain profits
Sorry for you man. Things are going to get worse Im afraid . If you look at other countries and say the UK as a particular example you then see the wage structure has been attacked over the past years . With the influx of immigrants employers are spoiled for choice and can cut wages to get rid of existing workforce and replace with ""others"" who are only too eager to please . Swear mate - not being racist . We take cut after cut and are being told we are lucky to have a job . There is much more going on than meets the eye my friend - the worlds wealth is being redistributed . I have said before in other posts re the working classes and how, traditionally , we where always represented by the Unions and the Labour Party . This is no longer the case and it seems we are being left high and dry . The worrying thing for me is extremism - when there is a lack of of honest proper Government /leadership a vacume is created and same is usually filled by lunatics who first wave fists and then AK 47"s . I fear the future - our childrens that is .
This is about lifestyle if im right. Those at the top want to maintain a certain lifestyle for themselves. Which is why they pay themselves the salaries they do Also they think they are worth it. Sometimes they are. The funny thing is most union bosses are on six figure salaries for delivering wage increases under previous government which were unsustainable. I would go back to LRC if you are being exploited.
they called us in for a meeting last week and that was pointed out to the top man he could afford to give up half his wages if he stopped golfing 3-4 times a week!!were waiting on a lrc hearing to get a recommenation about the rise but giving were supplying tesco and theyve recently been told they dont have to give a pay rise by the lrc i dont hold out much hope
