Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have contacted Mata`s representative (his father) and the trio have all expressed varying degrees of interest in the player`s situation. Mata`s new contract contains a buy out clause of €60 million, but that will always be negotiable if both the player and the club are willing to listen to offers. What is clear is that Valencia expect an offer at some point and so far City and Liverpool seem to have shown the greatest level of interest in him (more visits from their scouts to Mestalla or more contact with his agent, for instance). At The moment it is agame of poker, but City and Liverpool are both under the impression that the transfer depends, not so much on the player - as they think they can convince him - but on Valencia and the final fee they will demand for him. Valencia plan on approaching Real Sociedad for Griezmann if it looks like Mata is leaving. -Balague My opinion on Mata he is very inconsistent but he can be great as well , his stats are impressive for a winger but also imo he is a inside forward and stats then again imo not as impressive .. I will add didnt see a lot of him last season , but a fair bit in 2009/2010 . Thoughts
This would be a very, very good signing. But City wanting him is the worry, how many players do they want!!
He would be a great signing but with a buy out clause of 60m we would need to come up with something in the region of 40m to come close to tempting Valencia and to beat City's offer at the same time.Won't happen imo but here's hoping.
They will have to offload players this summer they cannot just buy, buy, buy and keep players. Crazy situation at City.
Don't think we'll sign him for the very reason that everyone thinks we're gonna sign him, there is another.............
They will have to because of the wage ratio ... But hearing stuff like huge sponsorship money from their part of world... Will be interesting what UEFA do , if its jaw breaking sponsorship.
Age 23 stats ... la liga Games..Goals..Assist..Shots.......Year 33.......8........12........68.........2010/11 35.......5.........4.........56.........2009/10 37.......11........13........66.........2008/09
it will tell us a lot about him to see where he goes city for the money or us for the football and history and to help us great again
I think this is wishfull thinking, really cant see him going to a non CL team, he's one of the most sought after signings of this window.
For a inside forward i don't think their that impressive , id expect a lot more from our Suarez than 8 goals next season Conversion rate is only around 10% , assists aren't bad but not out of this world. Remember watching him a good bit in 2009/10 and the amount of times he should have scored and didn't was criminal 5 goals from 56 shots..... lads only 23 but anything over £18m is over priced but in today's market what do i know originally i would have said £13m
i dont think he'll go to city...he's the type of player not happy to sit on the bench (i hope)..so if he wants football then its us
Unfortunetly i agree. Very few top quality players available and every club is looking at the same ones.
"Liverpool will only move for Mata if they fail to get Downing" According the Rory Smith from the Times.
surely that should be the other way around!!!! Jaysus i must be goin mad otherwise. downing is average for 3/4 of every season, is one-paced and one-footed and ridiculously over-rated. as my bro says he's like the cherry blossom - looks great for 3 weeks of the year. Nzogbia is miles better and mata is even better still -this all worries and perplexes me
