Im glad to see the back of him as a player anyway, he was a great midfielder, shame about who he played for.

Have a lot of respect for the way he kept his private life though, PRIVATE.

He'll now join the coaching staff at United

I always thought he would of ended his football playing for Oldham, did he not speak of that before. They are few players who play for United that I can stand but Scholes is probably one of them, United be weaker next season so happy days.

Fantastic player and seems a decent fella, they will not replace him easily. You only have to look at the esteem in which he was held by players like Xavi & Zidane to know how highly rated he was. Neville, Van der Saar and Scholes now gone with Giggs not far away, their squad is lot weaker for it.

I think they'll try and raid Spurs for Modric as his replacement

Excellent player and dispite being probably one of the mancs best ever midfielders never sought the limelight, just kept his head down and got on with it. He's a real pros pro one of the few mancs I have never had any issue with.

I always felt he got a very easy ride over this from the media. There seemed to be an "oh it's Scholes, sure isn't it gas he can't tackle?" attitude from everyone. I think he honestly had a nasty streak to go along with his undoubted talent on the ball. Other players have been far more vilified over the years for far less than what Scholes has gotten away with. If he was foreign and played for a less high profile club he wouldn't enjoy the status he has now

You could double the amount of red cards he received too
