I would imagine most lads on here would still support the reds ? I am over in Dublin so much as well in other towns and cities and people love football or soccer as some people call it, and love talking about the pool or the scum or even the bitters. I think most people would love to have a prem team over there but my question is do you think we would lose many fans because of it ? I think great chance that there is a Dublin club soon enough with the new Lansdowne road opening.
Not to sure if this in the right area but it is a question aimed at Irish Reds !

sure it would take a few fans away from liverpool, but is that a bad thing. these fans would be probably the majority of ones wanting rafa out when we have a bad result. think this would be difficult to start, wasn't there talk of the crazy gang a few years back.

Given my roots and upbringing I would always support Liverpool. I have no doubt that a PL club in Dublin would sell out every game 20 times over but the principals of the club would be all wrong for me. It'd probably be some class of republican Chelsea.

I dont think it will ever happen, The FAI should concentrate on getting the eircom league right and attracting more people to it. I think an All Ireland league would be good, but I think that has ramifications on the national teams. the Setanta Cup has been a relative success and there has been no trouble to speak. I live in Drumcondra and used to go to games in Tolka even though I did not follow any team.

I've never been to an Eircom game, Ive watched a few in the pub and its like watching the 1st Division, complete crap.
Even if a Premier League team was set up out of Dublin (which cant happen anyway theyd have to be voted into the league) I'd still support Liverpool the exact same as I do now, I've supported them for over 25 years and even if Leeds happened to us that wouldnt change.

Bit unfair on the EL, guys. I have been to a few games and found the football decent and the fans are very passionate. I have no personal love or liking for any club so I dont go regularly. The all-ireland league would be great and would improve things in terms of investment no end.
Football is the biggest sport in this country in terms of numbers playing and has been for some time now. About time the same happened on the field. Football needs to move on particularly since the GAH is going pro now.

So that makes you an expert i guess?
No way and Never should a team from Dublin be allowed into the ENGLISH premier league. We have our own league here and despite what Pimboli says the product is good and it has improved over the years. The FAI dont market it enough and the tv coverage depite improving is still not where it should be,
This was tried with the Dublin Dons in 1996 and look what happened to that

Moving this to Football Chat (http://84.51.233.73/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=22) forum as it isn't LFC related.

That's quite funny, you've watched a few in the pub and you think it's crap? What exactly do you think of some of the premiership games other than when Arsenal or Man Utd. play really? Every weekend i would say there's at least 3/4 games that are really just rubbish. Also if your a football fan because you love great football than i don't know what your doing following Liverpool. Say what you want about the Eircom League, and it has alot going for it that makes it better than the Premiership, but your attitude stinks really.
