My MP3 player has stopped showing up when I plug it into the laptop. It'll still charge but can't find it on the thing. Tried 'my computer', not there, tried a search and nothing comes up. Won't come up in the sync bit on media player or real player. It used to but not anymore. My head is burnt. What's goin on?? Please help
Done that a few times.. Can an mp3 player get a virus in it?? It hasn't ben showing up on it now for weeks and when it's been plugged in the laptop won't shut down. I have to press the button til it goes off like..
probably the driver for the mp3 players gone a bit awol. If you have an application for it, uninstall it in add/remove programmes, then reinstall Usually does the job lad
i dunno if this is the right thread but hopefully some1 can help me. i know absolutely nothing about computers but im lookin 4 a new laptop. it doesn't need any mad things on it i jus need it 4 basic use(facebook, playing football manager etc.) and a bit of college work also. anyone recommend a make of laptop i could get??
I would do a system restore, it's in Accessories -> System Tools Usually sorts small problems like this one... TrueRed92, I would go for something relatively cheap... like Acer or something... Dell's are an obvious choice, but not the best imo... battery dies in them after a few months... http://komplett.ie/Komplett/product...160SD_V140_2GB_320GB/XH190EA_ABH/default.aspx That's a good laptop for the price, 15.6" screen, decent processor, 320gb is a nice size HDD... A good graphics card and enough RAM to do what you need it for... also the LED screen's are really crisp so it's worth looking at! PM me if you have any specific questions anyway I'm happy to help
Check these out also,. http://komplett.ie/Komplett/product...P8700_4GB_160/CUZ_K262V100_GOPL2/default.aspx http://komplett.ie/Komplett/product...250G_ION_W7/90OA2AD14314JA1E62QQ/default.aspx Smaller hard drive, but is a 12.1 inch screen size, which is a lot nice for carrying around, sleaker looks too, and cheaper. For college, and your needs, this would get my vote.
"playing football manager" = a no go on those 12.1" screens... unless you use netbook skins, which rarely work and are shit...
Ah good spot buddy, didn't notice the Football manager part of his post,. In that case I'd go for the Compaq as you suggested EDIT: I'll give you a buzz later on for a chat.
Just thought I'd throw my problem in here instead of starting a new thread. Just turned on my laptop and it's acting as if there's no cd drive, no icon showing up in my computer either. Happened once before too but the next day it was back. Any ideas?
Windows 7 or Windows Vista Click Start, and then click All Programs. Click Accessories, and then click Run. Type regedit, and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} In the right pane, click UpperFilters. *You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. In the right pane, click LowerFilters. Note If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this Won't help. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. Exit Registry Editor. Restart the computer. Windows XP Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. In the right pane, click LowerFilters. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. Exit Registry Editor. Restart the computer. Let me know if it works
Cheers for the help, don't see "UpperFilters" when I get into it all... Got the laptop repaired a couple of months ago cause apparently the motherboard had to be replaced. Hope I don't have to go through all that again as it cost a fair bit!
for a few months now the battery on my laptop has been dodgy, when its fully charged it still only lasts for 5 minutes, so it impossible to use without being plugged in. But in the last week its taken a turn for the worst, now its on a minute or two it make a noise (like a complete loss of power noise) and goes completely dead, if you give it a few seconds and power it up again it does the same after a miutes or so, so its completely unusable now. Does anyone know what the problem with this is or how to fix it, or is it on its last legs.
