grant has had a bad few seasons. Sacked from chelsea, relegated with pompy and relegated again today with the hammers
The Hammers have only themselves to blame, they had the players to stay in the Prem, quite easily imo. Grant will be made the fall-guy, and I'm no great fan of his either, but I think the ignominy of being sacked by the board straight after being relegated will reflect quite poorly on what Grant does in the future.
The real probleam IMO is the board at West Ham, they never really backed him, or Zola, they should resign aswell. Having said that with some of the players that they have, Parker, Green, Keane, Noble, Upson, they should have done a lot better.
those porn star owners are a pity.they were resigned to go down weeks ago.i blame the players.2 nil up today it was there fault.keane sitter last week.they hammered us it just shows they can be good when they want to play
+1..........his teams seem to bottle it when it comes down to it although the ref sent them on their way whilst 2-0 up against the scum with the usual dodgy decisions
No matter what kind of Manager you think Grant is, the total disrespect shown to both him, the fans, and the players by the board and owners is disgraceful
part of the modern game. Its inevitable that someone carries the can for a shite season. If you look at West hams current players and then look at Blackpool, Wolves and others... West Ham should have had enough about them to stay up. He's going to walk away with a small fortune. I wouldnt be feeling too sorry for him. He hasnt done anything much there and if you fail at any job in life then you get fired. West ham have to do what they think is right for the club. I'd agree with getting rid of him.
the ultimate cup manager if you ask me he had three good cup runs at chelsea pompey and west ham while they were muck in the league.i cant look at him without thinking of the count in seasame st though!!
I think he probably deserves to be sacked but what about Charlton Cole, surely he deserves to be sacked for that miss. Can you believe we were linked to him during the Hodgson era?
Going to be a mass exodus from the Hammers methinks. Parker, Cole, Bridge, Tompkins. ...cant see many of them wanting to hang around in the Championship. Be surprised if Ba didnt get a relegation clause in his contract considering where they were when he joined too.Think I read somewhere during the week that Green is out of contract too. Could be a while before we see them back in the premiership. Think Grant got exactly what he deserved, hes never struck me as the most tactically astute manager around. I mean even I could see that Wigan werent playing a left back for the last 20 minutes today and they didnt take advantage of it.
He deserved to get sacked but I dont see the point in doing it right after the game when they have been relegated, there is one game left and he would have resigned anyway after that. Its like to board trying to make a point 5 months too late.
Most definitely - saw a show last week where Alan Sugar was looking at the money in football and talked to Stadler and Waldorf at West Ham and also Karen Brady. They all knew full well that the club was in serious debt when they took it on and haven't been able to create the revenue to fund the club and pay the wages required. I can see the whole move to the Olympic stadium coming under review now as well. Back on topic - Grant has the charisma of a cigarette butt and is probably the least inspiring manager in world football but does deserve a little more respect that was shown last night; they're relegated, let him see out the season and then let him go. I heard that he was even going to drive back to London alone following the game in Wigan - how lonely this man must feel.
Might not be the greatest manager but I feel the team has a lot to answer to aswell, could really play when they wanted to but too often didnt turn up at all and squandered there chances to get out of trouble.
