A couple of rugby players have been diagnosed with MND recently including Andre Venter, Jarrod Cunningham and now Joost. It is often called Lou Gehrig disease after the baseballer who's career ended with the onset of symptoms during a season. There was also a clamour when a number of italian footballers were struck with the illness including Gianluca Signorini. For some reason there is a belief sports people are susceptible. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/european_football/article5114400.ece
Ever think its a coincidence that Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrigs disease?!
