i coached an under 14s team, and under 15s, did my kickstart one badge, also did a week coachin for lfcbarry on here for a college project for him think the kids were between 5/6 and 11
Cool, what kind of training methods did you use, what way did you try and get them to play? System, tactic etc
i worked mainly on fitness first, some short sprints, jogging, strecthes, push ups, sit ups, etc. then coming to footwork and all jus basic passing, one on ones, shooting , team in a circle and 2 in the middle chasing down, and other stuff like that, i always tried to get them to play ball on the ground, id rather see my team lose and try to play than long balls all day you know?
I have a load of drills I can send you, our team have a partnership with Glasgow Celtic, and we we're given the drills and run down of the Celtic Academy training sessions if you're interested. Also I stuck up a list of apps in the app thread that the 2 of you's were looking for,.
im exactly the same word for word mate, mine are only from 9-12 though so not so much on fitness and stuff yet, just basic football now
Elvis any chance you could send me on those drills you have,I'm managing a youth team and u14's.It always great to get fresh ideas, would really appreciate it.cheers Definitely pass and move by the way
Do a fair bit myself with kids 12 and under. I did a course in LFC academy out in Kirkby couple of years ago over 10 weeks run by LFC Academy coaches and Im qualified Level 2 by FA and FAI. I got stuff for summer camps (mixed ability, playing for participation) and some stuff that they do with younger academy teams, so if you're coaching a kids team in a good league, could be useful. Everything with a ball, kids need as many touches as they can get, no need for a focus on strength and fitness and that 'til they get older. PM me your address I'll post you (or anyone who wants it) out some of the stuff I got from the Academy when I get the chance.
I'm pretty sure xavi said they do this a lot of barca, think there is an article about it somewhere on here. It's a great way to get players used to moving the ball quickly and accurately.
@Elvis: i downloaded that file and it opened in Microsoft Wordpad, but its in code, yet i can see it on the internet.....HELP
You will need the newer version of Microsoft office, i'll convert it to a .doc file from a .docx and send it again.
