Surprised at this decision, Hart is number one and the only person who comes close to him is Foster. An injury or drop of form and he would be straight in there.
Maybe its the fact his form has been better and he still isnt getting a look in, 28 is early for international retirement for an outfield player never mind a keeper

And there was me thinking that I would need a new keeper for my fantasy football team.

The likes of Shearer, Giggs and Scholes retired from International football quite early and it no doubt helped to play as long as they have/did. Even Stephen Carr who always seem to be injured has hardly miss a premiership game in two years.

Foster is probably looking at it and sees that Hart will be number 1 for next 10 years and does not want the hassle of treking around Europe to sit on the bench. Not very loyal to his country, but he is looking out for number 1(pun intended).

Me too, have enough to be worrying about without him thrown a mickey fit.

Off Topic here but I use to have a Match of The Day video from the 70's, some dude from Wolves (I think) decided to retire really early and become a jehova witness because he thought he might injure some one in a tackle.

You sure that's not David Icke who used to play in goal for Coventry? Retired and said He was the son of God?

Defo an outfield player, he was just capped by England aswell if I recall correctly. Only 22 or 23 at the time, I'll google it and report back.

    EDIT: Thats him Peter Knowles

i thought i was more of a sabbatical than retirement if that is possible. imo he's the best english keeper at the moment better than Joe Hart and miles better than Green..
