Broke my heart to listen to Colette Wolfe interviewed on the radio last week & then the coverage in the Sunday papers.

For those who don't know, Colette was Leanne Wolf's mother, 18 year old girl from Cork who committed suicide after years of bullying torment.

I suppose for the sake of propiety I should probably add 'allegedly' to the foregoing as nobody has been convicted of anything, but if even a portion of what is reported is true then it is all too disgusting to even contemplate.

Bullying is an insidious poison and it's everywhere, schools, workplaces, social situations, internet posts......

If you're a parent please teach your kids to side with the victim, if you're a boss treat complaints seriously, if you're a victim and you feel you can't stand against the perpetrator alone - tell someone, your friend, your parents, your colleagues, whoever you trust.

Sol Campbell (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7151584.stm) has spoken out about the verbal abuse that players/managers receive. As fans do you think this is getting worse at games?

opposing fans will always try and have a go.

"you're sh*t cambell"
"f*** off back to highbury"

etc. Think its part of the game...sadly. But when you see players diving and cheating and almost assaulting a ref for a decision how can players claim the morale high ground. They should lead by example.

You rarely see any of this going on in rugby. English fans can sing their national anthem at croke park without any booing. If that was football their would be riot police kitted out on ever stand.



Thats only in relation to football. Fully support yodas sentiments.

Robbie Keane (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/7153338.stm) reckons football players should not be too sensitive to it. Obviously, his comments only relate to football players. It's a difficult subject to speak about unless you've been affected by it.

Probably the best post on this site. A truely genuine issue and one which all of us should keep to the forefront of our minds. Unfortunately, bullying is prominent in the workplace and it is very rare that it is dealt with appropriately.

Most bosses dont have the ability or the conscience to deal with it from my experience. I know very highly skilled people who left companies as a result of being bullied. Funny thing was the bullies were incompetent fools (and lick arses) when it came to doing their job.
