The sad thing is that, while there are flash mobs all over the US chanting & celebrating tonight, the American government couldn't have done anything more to encourage more radical attacks on their soil.

Now they are talking about hauling the body back to the US, wow.

Interesting that he made a specific point to say that it isn't / wasn't a fight against Islam.

Maybe so - but I don't think anyone except Al Qaeda will lose sleep over Bin Ladens death - Good riddance...
We cannot imagine how the families of the victims of 9/11 felt on that day, and we cannot imagine how they feel right now either.

Unfortunately, as pointed out above, He's now Numero Uno Martyr -
    Massive Jihad on the way!

What about the Americans entering Libya illegally and helping Al Qaeda???
Why did the Americans not "help out" in Rwanda or Serbia?, because there was no oil, that's why,. The biggest incitement of hatred the world has ever seen is now being conducted in Washington.

IMO 1 thing now happens, the state of Islam retaliates and it justifies the entire American operation of illegally entering a country amd murdering an extremley bad man,. And gives the government more power over the people,. Que the American government/people trying to change the legislation to allow the "hero" Obama run for a 3rd term at least.

Why not claim it was a suicide, why not say he was found dead, killed by his own people, anything.

The whole Obama press conference stunk of bravado and nothing else, taking his body back to the US, and they seem to think that this is the start of the end of terrorism? I just personally think that press conference will turn out to be a pretty stupid decision for the American people in the long run, but I hope I'm wrong.

they never said the body was on american soil . the man was killed days ago but the results of the dna tests on the body came through today as far as i can make out. I'm sure the queues are starting already to follow the new martyr.

How relaxed was Obama at this last night when he knew that something was going down soon.

There was no doubt that this man was highly intelligent and very well funded but to think his killing will be the end of terrorism is very near sighted.
I have no doubt that there will be retaliations and my big worry would be that the new leader would be even more ruthless and evil than bin laden or that new fractions form each trying to out do the other

They spent years trying to catch the A-Team, four lads in a big black van with a very distinctive driver, in America!!! So I wasn't holding out much hope for them finding him in the mountains of Afghanistan.

Whatever the bravado of the Americans, in my opinion, it's a good day. It may have taken 10 years but a symbol of world terrorism is gone and not a moment too soon.

Was planning on going to the States this September until I realised it will be 10 years on from 9/11. Probably would be safest time to go as security will be so tight, however tension now will be massive.

It's a sad day when people celebrate the death of another human being, but in this instance there's little doubt that a man like Bin Laden was a danger to us all ...

Much like I agree with the death penalty (subject to strict conditions etc), I feel ultimately Bin Landen was a killer and we're better off without him.

I hope who ever replaces him as leader of his group, will consider a non-violent method of trying to achieve their goals ...
