right lads i started the birmingham thread so im taking all the credit for a 5-0 win this week i think if we keep playing the same way i cant see anything else but a win for us im going 3-0 i think itll be more or less the same team with maybe caroll coming back into the team

Good man Glen. You're the official match thread starter from now on.Hopefully Carroll will be fit to face his former club.I'd fancy us to win this 2-0 or 3-1.

If Carroll comes in then we'll probably see maxi dropped? It will be interesting to see who loses out. I reckon it will either be him or Merieles.

Carroll will be rearing to go for this one, Kenny might start him on the bench but he'll definitely spend some time on the pitch I'd say.

    -----------------Pepe-----------------------
    Flanno------Carra-----Skrtel--------Robbo
    Cole------Spearing---Lucas--------Maxi
    ----------Kuyt-------Luis-----------

I'd like to see Joe Cole given a chance to stake a claim for a full 90 minutes. If it turns out to be a disaster, then sub him off early, bring on Raul. But I'd love to see the guy put in a great display, as I feel for him and he hasn't had a great season. Could be great and I want to see him do well. 4-0 to us either way!

What is the idea of the time of this game anyway? Both teams played last saturday, no games midweek, Everton are away from home and we get a ridiculous early sunday kick-off. Much prefer the 3pm saturday games. Is it purely for tv reasons?

ESPN are showing the game.Sky have Chelsea v Spurs on Saturday evening so Sunday lunchtime is the only time they could show our game.
That's my take on it anyway.

Don't think the 'Toon will be wide awake for this one.

Easy win for the Reds. 3-0

Espn have only got 23 matches across the season. There prime selection time is Saturday evening's but there is a lot more Saturday's during the season than this 23 weekends. Sky have the option to choose a Saturday evening if they want on any UK bank holiday as well.

Remember also when this match was selected for TV coverage we were still involved in this year's Europa league competition.

I would definitely go with the same team as the Birmingham one. The lads will be full of confidence after the 5 nil win. If Carroll is fit then I would like to see him start from the bench.
If he was to start then who would he replace, Raul, Maxi, Kuyt ? Don't think any deserve to be dropped. Normally I would say Maxi as he hasn't been playing much under Kenny but with a hattrick last weekend then he can't be dropped.

I think we will win 3 or for nil and keep the pressure on Spurs

grand the way this game is at noon on sunday, it kicks off at 11pm sunday night here in new zealand. Hopefully it is on tv? espn maybe.

all of a sudden, it looks like a good oppurtunity to beat Spurs to 5th. They have a very hard game this weekend, i can't see them get anything from that... We should really be beating newcastle. That would put us level and a better goal difference, and Spurs' game in hand is away to City..... Game on!
