Is there €690bn in gas and oil off Ireland’s shores? This could go a long way to solving our current problem's. Link
The Craic Fianna Fail were at with Shell means they sold some of it off for nothing. Shell will spend 1billion on their plans for Corrib so that horse may already have bolted.
I will never understand Corrib. Yes it was given away by traitors . Yes the present government are just the same as the last traitors with different names only . What does my head in is the lack of response from us ,the public. No more than a handful of people have stood up to the treasonous dogs and their paymasters royal dutch shell. And look at the bigger picture - traditionally the trade unions represented the working classes -not any more . When last was there meetings called ???I believe the unions have become too comfortable with their high wages and accompanying lifestyle . There should be thousands of us over there every week demonstrating about this disgrace . I fear for our future- the Kildare Street gang will be our ruination . Corrib gave us hope in our hour of need - it now belongs to a foreign country . Going out to watch the match before I stick me head in the oven..........
CAN'T BELIEVE THAT, leprechaun politics??????????? Riots are coming and the only thing stopping SF coming to power after them is the dissidents north & south
I have shares in a few oil companies and follow this whole area a bit. The fact that a "newspaper report says their is €690bn" means very little. Oil exploration is very high risk and very expensive with approximately 8/9 wells for gas and oil being unsuccessful...You would have to ask if there is so much oil there why has nobody drilled it yet? Having said that if Providence Resources are successful in their wells this year more players might enter the market. I could not see any oil company drilling in our waters based on SF's idea of profit sharing..however what you say in opposition is very different to what you would do when you get into govt..as we are are finding out with Fine Gael..
Sinn Fein wouldnt give away our natural resources as easily as the last shower of corrupt thieves, which the shell deal was signed over by ray burke, with the blessing and a nod +wink from Haughey. Look what Norway are earning from their natural resources...if only we followed its example on dealing with oil companies.
I agree that nobody could have been as bad for this country as FF...I can't believe that 400k people still voted for them in the last election. What surprises me is that if there is so much oil and, lets face it, it has been so easy, in the past, to bribe senior Government Minister why has nobody gone chasing this oil in a major way....
in 40 years of mining and drilling they have only yielded 2 finds. Doesnt mean there isnt more out there but its not a great return for 40 years of searchin and investigating
TBH mate, I think half the problem has been they'd be getting into deeper waters quickly off the Irish Coastline and that means exploration is very expensive. Throw that into the mix with the stats you've just quoted and you can see why it's a deterrant for them. However, with a growing need for new finds and prices increasing for fuel, then add new technology and it should result in future exploration .... These guys and their likes offer some potential, though will need to partner up with larger, richer companies: http://www.bluebirdenergy.net/ I've heard suggestion that they've identified Ireland as one area for investigation, with regards to the the shale gas research.
Lads, keep this on the downlow.. You'll ruin the masterplan. We'll wait until huge gas and oil finds are made then tell the EU to go do one. Bring in the new irish punt and live as an independent nation, once again, all by ourselves. Oh and shoot all the plonker politicians for crimes against the state.
