did anyone see Today's Press Conference?
Rafa was asked about speculation linking Bellamy with a move away from the Club.
he was asked was he happy to have him here (Bellamy)
Rafa replied by saying "are you talking about Torres?"
Journalist- "no,i'm talking about Craig Bellamy."
Rafa- "i'm happy to have Torres here."
looks like the writing is on the Wall for him......

I'd agree. I wonder how much he will go for. Rafa reckons he is worth £12 million. I don't think so personally but would like the club to make a profit on his sale.

Unless Rafa was just pissed off, 'cos he was there to talk about our record signing Torres and not transfer speculation, hence why he dodged the question

    no,i don't think so.
i think we'd all take it as a given that Dirk's going nowhere so no need to ask about him or for Rafa to talk about him.Rafa didn't even need to be asked about Crouch, when he was talking about the other Strikers he said that Crouch knows he's part of his plans.he could have said the same about Bellamy when asked but chose not to.....

I didnt see the press conference myself so thats probably the case. Still think he has something to offer us and gives us an extra dimension and strength and depth. But if its to fund a move for a world class winger/defender then its expected he will have to be sacrificed. Rafa won't lead us astray anyways.
At the moment couldn't care less chuffed we've got our big name signing :D

No I think the specific line where he switched the subject back to Torres was actually a case of I'm here to talk about Torres not what players might go, him obviously forcing the interviewer to change course giving rise to the general snigger. The interviewer generally was pushing it about Crouch, Bellamy and Heinze given a rare chance as Rafa hasn't been doing interviews lately prob to avoid such questions so yer man grabbed his chance.

Saying I wouldn't read too much into that bit the part before where he said about Bellamy - "He know's my idea. He is our player at the moment. We will see which is the future but it is clear there are new players here and it'll be more difficult on all the players" seems like he'll go for the right money to fund wingers, as he emphasised at the end when equally deflecting the Heinze question. One thing is I've noticed that Rafa, Alonso, Luis and Spanish players in general all tend towards these "at the moment my thoughts are with Liverpool, or I am a Liverpool player, but you never know about the future" type statements that prob aren't intended to convery a lack of commitment or that they're leaving soon as we thought when Alonso said this a few months back. But all in all its looking like Bellamy will go for the right money but I would still say stay if a proper bid doesn't come in.

If Bellamy is happy to fight for his place and prove his worth, then I think we should hold onto him. He definately has ability and is proven in the premiership. I know if I was him playing for the team I supported and on good money I'd be happy to do so. If his attitude is wrong and he is sulking over the Torres signing, then we should ship him out, hopefully for 10m+

If its a case of him or a new winger then go for the winger. If not and he's happy with the situ then keep him and he's also a winger option anyway especially with Garcia the perennial utility player now gone. I like Bellamy but I wonder how he'd fare with so much competition for places. Crouch has shown himself to be very professional in that regard. We have 3 strikers who will be rotated and then Voronin the dark horse who's prob destined to failed. Also Gerrard and Kewell can fullfill the supporting striker role in case of injuries.

To be honest I am surprised he hasnt left already. Initially I didnt want him at the club, then when everyone was having a go at him I backed him up and he started playing real well in the Christmas and New Year period. It all culminated with his goal in the Nou Camp. After that he seemed to go downhill. At the moment Im pretty impartial and would think its probably best for him to move on. With Torres in he is now behind him, Crouchy and Kuyt (def in Rafa's eyes), and cant see him settling for that.

The only sad thing is he is a pool fan. I'd like to look after one of our own, but to be honest , I dont think he was in a good frame of mind most of the last season. still the boy did well in Barca at a difficult time, so he has character, it just seems to be sporadic

He is a good player, but id have kuyt and torres ahead of him, and now possibly crouch, so his opportuinites are limited.

Therefore as wexred said here, using him as bait or cash for a top class winger makes since..

Or how about, we give bellamy to west ham, they give us tevez on loan for the year, and then we have an option to buy. We dont really need a second striker, but as was said elsewhere, it would be nice to scupper the mancs.

Aren't they all meant to be Liverpool fans (apparantly). I'd say if we got a player from Outer Mongolia he'd claim to have been supporting us in the 80's cup finals and Istanbul. I liiiiiiikkeee Liiiiiiiiverpoooool yah. Although looking at Torres's date of birth it seems the hey day excuses are starting to get too far away which shows ya how long ago they were (with his brothers telling him about Keegan and Rush but him only seeing the likes of Fowler first hand).

I know what you mean though being from not too far away from Liverpool but if Rafa can let Fowler go when need be he won't have any qualms about Bellamy if he gets the right price.

I'm only repeating myself her when I say I like Bellamy & that I think he has been harshly judged for last season. Bear in mind he did more for LFC in that season than HK has done since we signed him yet there is a far more tolerant view of Harry, who's ability I also admire BTW.

I'd keep him, presuming he wanted to stay which I think he does.

If the americans are splashing the cash and we didnt have to sell bellamy to fund wingers then Id agree with you. I think bellamy offers something different, and to spring him from the bench on 70 minutes might be a frequent match winning move. Im not sure, but how many did crouch score from the bench ( not many I think). Bellers pace comming on fresh could be a big asset.

But these yanks are no "drunken sailors"! (unlike myself) and Id say we will have to speculate to accumulate wingers.

He seems to have some emotional-anger issues, but as I've said, I like the guy, I think he is a good player and for the Nou Camp, he deserves our thanks.

He'll be a good player for the Hammers.

I don't think he would be happy in a roll at Liverpool where he would be mainly used off the bench and when he ain't happy we know what happens.:p

pity he didn't make a impact, he has a real aggressive streak in him that on the pitch can put defenders off. Like against vidic at anfield. (if only kuyt got a foot on that cross argh)

but hopefully torres has more to offer so in that respect (along with voronin who seems pretty tough) we have enough cover and if its to fund a bid for quasi, then so be it.

    sorry bellers
