A football gambling query

    Alright lads,

    Just looking for yer opinions on this....

    I placed a large bet on Man utd to "Qualify" in yesterdays cup tie.
    Yeah I know.... backing united etc, but I often do it as it softens the blow if they win, and its worth losing if they get beaten, etc

    Anyway, today I see that paddy-power have refunded all bets on united to Win, and all bets on the draw etc, due to Ginger-fcuk's red card.

    But they didn't give me a refund.

    I'm assuming its because I clicked on TO QUALIFY rather than WIN, but sure how can you qualify without winning or drawing, and they're refunding all the Win or Draw bets.

    Do I have a case here do yee reckon???

    Don't think you have a case mate! They can qualify after drawing and go through on penos which in the gambling world is not technically winning the match!
    Think your gonna have to take the hit on this one!

    As far as I know mate "win" normally means in normal time only (extra time and penos don't count) whereas if you back them to qualify then if they win in extra time or penos you get your win whether they win in normal, extra time or via penos!

    Don't think you have a case.

    Yeah but they refunded any bets on the draw too mate

    Nearly sure the MBS are only on the 90 minutes,. No harm in getting onto them via the live chat, and complain a little bit, at the very least they will give you a free bet,.

    Might be worth trying the live chat.That way they will explain it to you plus you can argue your case.

    U have no case unfortunately D-Red, PP usually have approx 60-70 different markets u can bet on in big matches like this, and I see they refunded on only: Win Draw Win, Correct score, 1st/last goalscorer, and scorecast.
    So bets like yours to qualify, and many others such as draw no bet, anytime goalscorer etc aren't included in the refund.

    It usually states in their T&C's that these refunds only apply to bets made within 90 mins

    Edit : stevieg05 explains it perfectly

    Tried the live chat just there but keep getting timed out. Bugger. Sent an email instead.

    My logic about this is that they have refunded (1) Man Utd Win Bets and (2) Man utd Drw bets.

    Now you cannot qualify without either winning or drawing, can you? So surely theres a case for me getting the refund?

    Anyway..... Most of yee seem to think I'm fooked. yer probably right :(

    They state the markets they were refunding in the event of a red card in the T&Cs of the bet. Don't think to qualify market was included.

    They said they accept my point about the Needing to win or draw to qualify, but that the Qualify bet wasnt in the terms and conditions so thats the end of the matter.

    F**k them. I'll place my future bets with Boyle-Sports instead
