Lads a mate of mine has started a new GAA forum,he took his inspiration from Irishkop and I gave him some advice. He is ready for testing and looking for people to have a look register and user the various features post up a few comments etc etc. I am not into the GAA so cant help much with that but I did say I will post up a thread here and help spread the word.So if you have a few min free check it out and if you know a few GAA heads let them know about the site. www.gaachat.com
Hope it goes well for him... I'm not much into GAA myself, despite living less than 3 miles from Croker, I'm far from a regular and couldn't even name half the Dublin Team (football or hurling), so I'll give this one a miss thanks. Stuck a plug for this on my facebook page, might help him attract in a few newbies as a few mates are into the GAA alright.
great stuff paul hope it takes off for him because hoganstand is a joke of a site that actively encourages wums and wont allow decent posts past the mods and boards is ok but its not an overly busy forum either.dunno if theres any other ones out there to be honest at the minute. i was stuck in work again today and finding a half decent website doing updates on all the games is impossible if he can get a decent match update situation going on hed be laughing.
As I said above I am not into the GAA but from talking to my mate he has simpler views and thinks the GAA fans are missing a independent fans forum. The prob he is going to have is getting the word out.
My mate who started this lost his job soon after and never pushed it,the site went down and it never took off.Anyway I am please to say he has got back on his feet and is going to try and push this again,I have spent the day fixing it up for him was only meant to be a 20 min job took be 3/4 hours. He is going to go live with it in the next couple of weeks,as I am not into the GAA myself there is not much else I can do bar help get the word out.So you may see some adds pop up here soon. I would ask anybody who has a few min to try and register and post a bit of you have time, this is so I know all the stuff I done today works.
Will defo take a look as we are big gaa fans down here. Problem with most gaa sites is they are full of opinionated people who think their county is the only one evenif they havent being able to compete in years.
Cheers, any help spreading the word would be appreciated facebook, twitter word of mouth.I am not a big gaa fan so cant help in this regard.
Cheers,I believe there is a small prob with the confirmation email. Can you let me know if you have this prob.
Its a prob on the hosting end,I will be getting onto them tomorrow.Ontill then I have activated all accounts so you should be fine. Cheers to anybody who has taken the time to have a look, its stuff like this that needs to be ironed out by people actually using the site.
Cheers, every little helps. I don't think my mate understand how hard getting a forum off the ground is.He looks at Irishkop and just thinks its easy, took us years to get this kind of traffic and its certainly not just a case of build it and they will come. Anyway thats his prob,I will help him on the technical end and try to help get the word out.But I keep telling him its not easy.
