I have had both, iTouch is som much better, apps free texting, free phone calls, wifi, internet, camera etc,. if you just want music then the ipod, but the itouch is way better, you can also edit playlists on the go, no comparison imo, only storage size is better on the classic,.
Get the Viber app, and you can make calls from it as long as you are connected to Wifi, and have a phone number, but you can use any phone number, you just get the activation code sent to the phone, then you never need it again,.
