I didnt see today's show, but the Trucker tweeted me to say the lads came across very well. Having said that, iv seen over on Twitterland that Carra blamed the fans for getting on Hodgsons back after bad results. That sorta bullshit is unacceptable to me because I'm not on £50k a week! How a player can deflect from their own piss poor performance is beyond me! Blame the fans is bollix. For all the good sense and humour they spoke with today, if they had the cheek to blame us for the start of the season they are a disgrace. I haven't seen the show, but I will & I'll make up my mind after that.
watched it myself this morning and didnt get that feeling at all to be honest. Both spoke extremely well i thought, on all sort of subjects, and considering its live tv and they arent politicians with pre-prepared speeches to stick to, i thought they were excellent guests. I think people try to hard to analyze word for word what players/managers say on a constant basis, but it was a football interview, entertaining and insightful and thats it.
Didn't get that at all from it. Sure he didn't bury his head in the sand and he admitted that the fans didn't take to Roy but he also said that the players had to take the blame as they all underperformed over a long period and that the squad was weak and further weakened by the departure of Mascherano. Think certain people in twitterland are just looking for something to throw at Carra to fuel their agenda. They conveniently ignore the praise both of them heaped on the fans throughout the show saying that they are the club, the reason that they played for the club and that they were the difference between them Winning and losing on so many occasions.
An therein lies the problem. When you watch it back, you'll find Carra did not come across as twitter said he did.
Yeah I noticed that myself, the 2 lads were excellent I thought, although there was one or 2 things that was said I didnt quite like, but thats always going to happen, they couldnt speak highly enough of the fans IMO. Done very well,.
Loved Carra's point about player power, he basically said it's a load of bollix and players shouldn't come into it where a manager is concerned they make the decisions and thats that. Gerards point on Villa players too not playing for GH was quality, something along the lines of 'players are paid to play for their club no matter whos in charge, if they dont its a disgrace'
I thought it was an excellent programme, 10 minutes on yesterday's games and the rest a review of the lads careers. Both players came across very well, they were both very complementary of our fans and the club, 2 true legends that have been wonderful servants to our club, we should be very proud of them and the major parts they've played in this clubs success in the last 10 years.
I know this is quite a romantic notion coming from a fan but I think Carra genuinely has it all in his locker to become a great manager or part of a great management team
a dead cert for me...having read his book, convinced me even more... really hope KK sees this soon -if he's here next season... (jees, I still have to pinch myself to the fact that KK is back at the helm)
Have my doubts I must say. Can't imagine any team he sends out being to adventurous or expansive, I could see him been more like Roy in the way he sets up teams, of course I could be totally wrong, I'd like him to have a good few years proving himself elsewhere before he's offered Kenny's job.
Deffo, if you notice over the last 18 months carra has done alot of media work and gives interviews after every game and sounds more like a manager than a player in the post match interviews. I think he'll be our manager could even be in next 10 years.
Long ball hoofing it up the field springs to mind. But i think as a manager, he would hopfully be different having watched and studied the amount of football which he claims to watch and have a interest in.Id imagine, he would make his team a diffcult team to beat, and also he would want a team who are like himself, giving 110% in every game.
