I'm hoping we attack these from the off, hi-tempo play, with the crowd in full voice is the way to get by these.

I'm sure we won't be complacent they are a decent side and if they score a goal we will have to do an Olympiakos-esque performance without our skipper to get through. It won't be easy anyway, hope Kenny throws Carroll in from the off. Is Agger still out?

    Pepe

    Johnson
    Carra
    Skrtel
    Soto

(Are they are only four fit defenders?)

    Lucas
    Raul
    Cole

    Kuyt
    Maxi
    Carroll.

I cant wait for this, the hole trip will be epic, I have a feeling Anfield will be packed to the rafters and in full voice too,. 3-1 to us, with them scoring first, just to have the Olimpiacos-esque scenario ;)

I think Wilson is fit. But I think for next season we need to plan without Aurelio and Agger due to excessive injuries. It's a bit of a joke at this stage. We need 2 LBs ( or a LB and a RB ) and a top quality CB.

Also, you couldn't put Cole in for this game ( or any game at the moment ) in my opinion. The guy looks like he's going to have a cardiac every time he moves 3 yards.

UEFA have confirmed that a minute of silence will be held prior to Liverpool's Europa League clash with SC Braga in memory of the victims of the earthquake in Japan.

European football's governing body have requested that all UEFA matches held this week observe the silence as a demonstration of support for the Asian community.

We should approach this like we would a premier league game.High tempo, straight into them. It's been a very succesful tactic for us in europe in the past against much better sides than these.Should be a great atmosphere too.

Thats the last thing we need is to be without him, a midfield of Spearing & Poulsen would give me the fear.

Only 15th post in a match thread, I know it is still 7 hours away but I fell it reflects people's opinion of this trophy. Not mine I am buzzing for tonight.

Was thinking the same myself. Maybe it could be put down to the lack different teams we can put out tonight. You would think on paper the team picks itself:

    ------------Reina-----------
    Carra--Skrtel--Soto/Agger--Magic
    ---------Lucas--Raul--------
    Kuyt--------Cole--------Maxi
    -----------Carroll------------

We have to go at these from the beginning with Kuyt & Carroll up top.

Play with a quick tempo and don't let them settle, they will look to hit us on the counter with their pacey forward players, if they score 1 goal we need 3  - which without Gerrard & Suarez it will be very hard to get.

I imagine most people on here would love for us to win this competition and will get more excited closer to kick off time.

As for the lack of posts I reckon its down to the fact its hard to get excited about the opposition (most people expect us to win and they have no real stars), the standard of our games in this competition so far and the fact that Suarez isnt playing.
