    Havant and waterlooville player sent off for rugby tackling a streaker.Seems a bit harsh but afaik its part of the rules so the ref was right to send him off.

    I remember schmeichel rugby tackling a galatasaray fan and the ref did nothing. I think that player was right tackling that fcuking idiot.

    Heard about this on the radio, only seen it now you've posted the link mate ...

    absolutely stupid, be it the decision of the ref or a FA rule .... can't beleive they'd discourage someone from tacking a fool like that, he's not supposed to be on the pitch, so if he goes on, he takes his chances imho !

    It was maybe a tad over-aggressive but he shouldn't be sent off for it IMO.

    The player is essentially physically assaulting the fan so its easy to see why it's discouraged. Sad, but thats the world we live in.
    Could you imagine if it was deemed ok to rugby-tackle a streaker.... and a female one legged it across the pitch ... she wouldnt get far:D

    Absolute joke as the security for the match couldn't catch the lad & when the player steps in he's sent off. That ref should never officiate a match ever again!

    Sorry only seen this now.It is violent conduct,does not matter who was on the end of it in the rule book.
